Ein Gruß von Celebrity oder gute Kreuzfahrtfreunde / A greeeting from Celebrity or good cruise-mates

Ich hatte ja Celebrity geschrieben, dass ich ganz gerne noch das Lederetui hätte, das ja Bestandteil der Concierge-Class-Balkonkabinenleistung ist. Das war Januar 2010 und eine Antwort kam nie. Deswegen wurden dann bei neuen Routen erstmal die Routen sich angeguckt, die einen besseren Kundendienst haben: NCL, HAL, Princess und Cunard.

Nun waren wir Pfingsten auf Mini-Kreuzfahrt an Land: Sprich wir haben Freunde in der Nähe von Karlsruhe besucht, die uns dann so verwöhnt haben, als ob wir auf Kreuzfahrt gewesen wären.

Als Celebrity-Gast, der von der Leistung von Celebrity überzeugt ist, hat er es dann selbst in die Hand genommen, dass ich noch zu meinem Etui komme.

Für unsere Mini-Cruise an Land und das Etui möchte ich daher nochmals vielmals bedanken und wir geben gerne eure Kontaktdaten weiter, falls noch mehr Leute eine Mini-Cruise an Land machen möchten oder sonst noch jemand etwas von Celebrity braucht...

Wir freuen uns auf NORWEGIAN SPIRIT 2013 nach NORWEGIAN JADE 2009 und NORWEGIAN EPIC 2010.

I wrote Celebrity that I would like to have a leather cover which was part of the amneties of the Concierge-Class-Balcony-Category. That was in January 2010 and I have never gotton an answer. For new itineraries we checked out those itineraries from companies which have a better customer service: NCL, HAL, Princess and Cunard.

But Pentecost we had a mini-cruise ashore: i.e. we visited cruise-friends close to Karlsruhe who treated us if we would be on a cruise.

As loyal guest of Celebrity who likes their performance he took himself in this hand to get me my cover.

For our mini-cruise ashore and the cover again thank you very much and we are willing to gave others who like to spend a mini-cruise ashore or need anything from Celebrity your contacts.

Lufthansa hat sich gemeldet und uns als Wiedergutmachung mit unserem Gepäck einen Scheck geschickt für das Taxi und für die vergeblichen Anrufe bei der Gepäckermittlung in Düsseldorf einen Fresskorb geschickt.

Olympus hat uns unsere Kamera anstandslos ausgetauscht. Da die rosa Kamera in Deutschland nicht vermarktet wurde, gab es eine in orange zurück.

Von den ursprünglichen Plänen uns noch die Vulkane in Costa Rica anzugucken, sind wir ein Stück abgerückt. Durch die einmalig günstige Lage wegen der Osternfeiertage und dem wirklich sehr günstigen Preis der Reise, steht im April 2011 Hawaii auf dem Programm. Zum Roll-Call geht es hier:

Celebrity hat sich bei Charly und Katie zurückgemeldet für ihr Feedback. Bei uns noch nicht. Auch haben wir das Ereignis von Papenburg nach Eemshaven auf der CELEBRITY ECLIPSE nicht gewonnen. Ist ja nicht weiter tragisch: denn dafür hat sich NCL gemeldet und uns zu einem Premieren-Event auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC eingeladen.

Charly und Katie werden uns auf die NORWEGIAN JADE im Januar 2011 folgen. Noch jemanden, den wir mit dem Kreuzfahrtvirus infiziert haben.

Gestern sind auch noch die Unterlagen für unser Mini-Cruise auf der ARTEMIS gekommen. Der Blog wird sicherlich wieder in dem Blog weitergeführt, in dem unsere bisherigen Mini-Kreuzfahrten beschrieben wurden:

Lufthansa reacted and we got as compensation for our baggage a check for the taxi and a gourmet basket the unsuccessful calls to Düsseldorf baggage tracing service.

Olympus exchanged the camera without any problems. As the pink camera was not available on the German market we got one now in orange.

Celebrity reacted to Charly's and Katie's feedback. With us not yet. And we did not won the event from the shipyard in Germany's Papenburg to the dock in Netherland's Eemshaven on CELEBRITY ECLIPSE. But it's fine with us: because NCL invited us for the Premiere-Events on NORWEGIAN EPIC.

Charly and Katie will follow us on NORWEGIAN JADE in January 2011. Someone else whom we inficted by the cruising virus.

Es war bestimmt eine der schönsten Kreuzfahrten, die wir gemacht haben.

Dementsprechend schließe ich mich den anderen an:

wunderschönes Schiff

tolle Route

- sehr gute Verteilung der Seetage und gutes Verhältnis Seetage zu Landgängen - vor allem perfekte Lage der 11 Nächte Montag bis Freitag der kommenden Woche, was eine tolle An- und Abreise ermöglicht.

Zurecht steht die CELEBRITY EQUINOX so weit oben bei Douglas Ward: Gemeinsam mit CELEBRITY SOLSTICE direkt nach den Queen Grill-Klassen der QUEEN MARY 2 und QUEEN VICTORIA.

Für mich ist immer die Unterhaltung wichtig und da kann man nur sagen: eine klasse Performance. Hat wirklich Spaß gemacht.

Vor allem: Das Gefühl mit unseren Problemen, die ja nicht Celebrity verursacht hat, sondern Lufthansa, nicht im Stich gelassen worden zu sein: Der schönste Satz war: "Sie haben jetzt Urlaub - wir kümmern uns darum: Machen Sie Ihren Landgang!". Ich bin Logistiker und habe immer gelernt, sich nicht immer 100%ig auf andere zu verlassen und immer ein Auge selbst darauf zu werfen. Cristina und Ljubi haben jedoch diesen Satz mit so einer Überzeugung rübergebracht, dass ich mich in der Situation um 99,9% entspannen konnte und nicht nur zu 80%. Etwas innere Unruhe bleibt immer: deswegen die 0,1%, mit der man sich mit Plan B befasst: was ist, wenn das Gepäck es nicht zu den Kaimanninseln schafft. Auch nochmals Danke an Hector und José: unsere Kabinenstewards, die so viele Extrameilen laufen mussten, weil wir uns ja alles ausleihen mussten. Vor allem aber für die Freundlichkeit von der 1. Minute bis zur letzten Minute und dass unsere Kabine im tadellosen Zustand war.

Spitzenmäßig war das Essen in den Zuzahlrestaurants. An kajomare: lass uns mal in Düsseldorf treffen und dann kannst du mir sagen, ob ich deine Erlebnisse im Silk Harvest noch steigern konnte. Insgesamt tolles Essen und spitzenmäßiger Service in allen vier Zuzahlrestaurants. Und die Höhe der Zuzahlung spiegelt auch den Service und die Qualität es Essens wieder. Vom Tuscan Grille habe ich jetzt irgendwo gelesen: wo ein kalifornisches Weingut auf ein toskanisches Steakhaus trifft - oder so ähnlich. Vielleicht ist das der Grund, warum ich jetzt mit dem Begriff Tuscan Grille nicht so viel anfangen konnte, obwohl unser Essen und Service auch hier sehr gut war. Schade, dass auch nur sie sich als einziges der vier Zuzahlrestaurants für den Besuch nachträglich bedankt haben. Das war eine wunderschöne Geste. Murano war natürlich top und wir packen den Besuch zu unseren wunderbaren Erinnerungen im Todd English (QUEEN MARY 2, QUEEN VICTORIA), Pinnacle Grill (EURODAM) und L´Étoile (MSC FANTASIA). Wie ich von paiagirl (Frances von cruisecritic.com) höre, soll ja NCL möglicherweise mit dem Le Bistro auch wieder aufsteigen: Die Preise sind angehoben worden und das Niveau des Essens und des Services auch. Lassen wir uns auf der NORWEGIAN JADE überraschen.

Trotzdem gibt es ein paar Punkte, die ich wahrgenommen habe, und die mich z. T. gestört haben.

1. Kabine

Im Bad fehlt die Wäscheleine. Wenn es schon keinen Waschsalon mit Trockner gibt, finde ich es praktisch, wenn man mal Sachen vernünftig nach einem Regen oder Poolbesuch zum Trocknen aufhängen kann.

Ferner wäre eine Handbrause für alle schön und nicht nur für Suiten- und Aqua-Class-Gäste: ein Standard auf vielen Schiffen, den es für alle gibt. Nicht jeder mit Dauerwelle mag vielleicht die Duschhaube oder sich jeden Tag die Haare waschen...

Und wenn es keinen Waschsalon gibt, sollte man zumindest ein preisgünstiges Wäschesackangebot unterbreiten. Wir hatten zum Glück Coupons. Übrigens die Preise auf der Celebrity-Homepage waren nicht mehr aktuell. Im Zeitalter, in dem immer mehr Fluggesellschaften die kostenlose Gepäckmitnahme einschränken, wäre es sehr entgegenkommend, damit mit man mit weniger Gepäck reisen kann.

Leider hat man alle Schubladen im Wandschrank ausgebaut und so fanden wir den Stauraum reichlich knapp bemessen. Man ist wohl der Kritik von Gästen der CELEBRITY SOLSTICE gefolgt, allerdings ins andere Extrem. Ein Kompromiss für die CELEBRITY SILHOUETTE: Schubladen vom Boden bis zur Höhe, in der noch Jackets, Hemden usw. aufgehangen werden können, ohne dass die Schubladen stören. Eine Gepäckmatte wäre auch nicht schlecht.

Ein Kühlschrank, der nicht die oberen Schubladen heizt.

Eine Kaffeemaschine oder Wasserkocher: Aufstehen - Teewasser aufsetzen - duschen und bei einer Tasse Tee den Sonnenaufgang auf dem Balkon genießen... (und bei der Gelegenheit die Eier im Wasserkocher zu Ende garen...).

Einen Bordkanal im Fernsehen so schalten, dass man auch die Ansagen in den Kabinen hören kann und natürlich die Menüführung und Inhalte verbessern, verbessern, verbessern...

2. Deutschsprachiger Service

Warum müssen deutschsprachige Gäste nicht wissen, dass Tendertickets ab 07.30 Uhr ausgegeben werden, sondern nur englischsprachige???

Warum müssen deutschsprachige Gäste nicht wissen, was sich hinter der Show abends verbirgt???

Warum gibt es in Extremsituationen keine Informationen für nicht englischsprachige Gäste??? Die Information mit dem Norovirus gab es nur in Englisch. Ein Blatt mit allen wichtigen Informationen hätte für mehr Verständnis für bestimmte Massnahmen und verantwortungsvolleres Verhalten gesorgt. Bei der Rückkehr nach Cozumel ging es doch auch, dass mehrsprachig angesagt wurde.

Wären die "Stadt-" bzw. Shopping-Pläne für deutsche Gäste nicht genauso wichtig gewesen??? Sie lagen leider nur in den englischen Ausgaben bei.

Und selbst da: warum wurden nicht immer die Kontakte zu den lokalen Agenten angegeben, damit man im Notfall Kontakt aufnehmen konnte: Für Colón und Puerto Limón fehlen sie nämlich. Das ist doch eigentlich fast die wichtigste Information auf den Tagesprogrammen - oder???

3. Ausflüge

Meistens machen wir ja die Ausflüge selbst. Bislang haben wir ja nur die Ausflüge von Carnival, Celebrity, P&O und MSC genutzt. Aber hier fühlte ich mich wirklich im Stich gelassen:

a) falsche Auskünfte am Telefon (Badetücher)

b) nicht-nachhaltige Information am Tag des Ausfluges (Seekrankheit während der Überfahrt)

c) fehlenden Präsenz an markanten Punkten (korrekte Veranstalterhinweise auf den Tickets und klare Zuordnung zu Celebrity)

4. Service im Silhouette-Restaurant

Dass ausgerechnet wir das Pech hatten, am ersten Tag jemanden zu erwischen, der in anderen Reiseberichten Erwähnung gefunden hat und daher ein Bezug Bestand war Pech.

Insgesamt war es jedoch so, wie wir es auch im Fragebogen wiedergegeben haben: wir haben alle Servicelevels von 1 bis 6 erlebt.

Wobei ich mich frage, was das eigentlich für eine Geschichte ist, dass es Celebrity's Policy sei... denn da muss wohl was wahres dran sein: denn ja auch in anderen Reiseberichten wird über das Besteckphänomen berichtet:

Das kann doch eigentlich nicht sein, dass man auf dem fast-bestem großen Schiff, das Besteck für den nächsten Gang behalten muss und es auch auf Anfrage nicht ausgetauscht wird, sondern man die Antwort bekommt, dass die Geschäftspolitik sei, dass man es behält.

Es gibt gewisse Abläufe, die sogar auf niedriger bewerteten Schiffen Standard sind: Besteck wird vor dem nächsten Gang aufgedeckt und zwar in einer Essenspause, wenn abgeräumt wurde und bevor der nächste Gang serviert wird. Und vor dem Hauptgang ist eine Cäsur und keinesfalls wird so serviert, dass einer noch den Salat hat, ein anderer den Hauptgang und einer ist schon mit dem Dessert beschäftigt. So extrem ist es zum Glück dieses Mal nicht vorgekommen, aber man sollte schon darauf achten, dass vor dem Hauptgang erst abgetragen wird, wenn alle fertig sind.

Welcher REFA-Mensch hat eigentlich Celebrity beraten, dass man erst mal alle Salate an allen Tischen eines Bezirks servieren soll, damit man anschließend mit dem Dressing nur einmal herumlaufen muss?

Geschmacklich war alles in Ordnung, bis auf die Suppen - aber das spielte keine Rolle, ob in der Kabine, ob im Hauptrestaurant oder im Zuzahlrestaurant: die musste man immer nachwürzen. Da war es eigentlich o.k., wenn schon direkt nach dem Auftragen Salz und Pfeffer (in der Phase, als der Norovirus grassierte) angeboten wurde. Das konnte man blind akzeptieren. Aber bei allen anderen hätte ich gerne mal die Chance einen Bissen zu probieren, bevor mir Salz und Pfeffer angeboten wird.

Butter und andere Brotauftriche, die eigentlich schon ranzig oder angetrocknet sind, sollte man vielleicht doch ersetzen.

So viele Menschen, wie dort arbeiten, so viele Stile werden dort praktiziert:

Bei den Sommeliers:

einer geht von einem Tisch zum anderen und notiert die Bestellungen und alle bekommen ziemlich zeitnah ihre Weine zum Essen.

Ein anderer fragt an einem Tisch, geht den Wein holen, und dann zum nächsten Tisch usw. usw. Der letzte Tisch bekommt seinen Wein mit dem Dessert.

Fällt so etwas eigentlich keinem Maître, Restaurant-Manger, F&B-Manager oder Hoteldirektor auf???

Bei den Kellnern:

Es gibt in der Regel drei bis vier Sorten Brot:

Ein Kellner sortiert sich sein Brot korbweise und wenn ein zweiter Gast am Tisch die selbe Brotsorte verlangt, kann er sofort bedienen.

Ein anderer Kellner kommt mit einem kleinen Brotkorb, wie er am Tisch platziert wird. Als wir um ein weiteres Roggen-Malz-Brot bitten, muss er wieder zur Servicestation zurück und noch eines aus einem anderen Korb holen gehen.

Wir haben ja schon z. T. unsere vorgebuchten Tische um 30 Minuten vorgezogen, um dann doch pünktlich zur Show zu kommen. Das war aber immer eben die Frage, welchen Kellner man bekam, und ob man doch nicht umsonst 30 Minuten früher essen gegangen ist, weil der Kellner nur sehr effizient bediente.

Können die Verantwortlichen von Celebrity keinen einheitlichen Stil festlegen, der möglicherweise auch dem eigenen Anspruch gerecht wird? Manche haben uns bedient, als wie wir es auf einer HAPAG-LLOYD, SEABOURN, REGENT SEVEN SEAS, CRYSTAL, SILVERSEA erwarten würden und andere als ob wir bei LOUIS wären (Bewusst mal nur Gesellschaften ausgewählt, die wir nicht kennen und vielleicht von der Bewertung her, erwarten würden).

5. Crew am 1. und letzten Tag

Zunächst haben wir uns auf dem Schiff überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt, weil auch die Herzlichkeit und die Freundlichkeit fehlte, die wir eigentlich von der 1. Minute an von NCL her kennen.

Am 1. Tag wurden wir schätzungsweise von 40% der Crew als erster gegrüßt, 30% der Crew erwiderte den Gruß, wenn wir als erste gegrüßt haben und 30% grüßte uns gar nicht zurück.

Am 2. Tag wurde die Quote besser: 60%, 20%, 20%

Vom 3. Tag lief es bis zum vorletzten Tag: 90%, 5%, 5%

Der letzte Tag lief dann aber wieder der 1. Tag ab...

6. Blu

Ich hätte sehr gerne einmal im Blu gegessen, um den Unterschied zu sehen. Auch als Gast eines Aqua-Class-Gastes ging es nicht. Es ging nicht ums Schnorren, sondern, dass man mal sieht, ob der Preisunterschied gerechtfertigt ist. Den Wunsch mal im Queens Grille oder Princess Grille-Restaurant hatten wir nie, weil die Preisunterschiede einfach zu hoch sind. Zwichen Aqua-Class und Concierge Class sind die Unterschiede nicht ganz so hoch.

Bei uns hätten wir im günstigsten Fall 200 EUR pro Person Unterschied gewesen:

Rechnen wir mal ein bisschen:

An den vier Seetagen hätten wir es geschafft, vielleicht mal in den Persian Garden zu kommen: 8 x 20 USD = 160 USD
Das halbe Wasserpaket hätten wir nicht gebraucht: 11 x 7 USD = 77 USD
Jeden Tag eine Kanne Eistee, falls er so gut wäre, wie im Café al Bacio: 11 x 6 USD = 66 USD
= 303 USD für 11 Tage... 200 EUR x 2 = 400 EUR = ca. 550 USD...

Die Duschköpfe zur Seite sind für mich kein persönlicher Nutzen...

Also hätte es mich interessiert, ob wirklich die Qualität und der Service im Blu evtl. Mehrkosten noch rechtfertigt oder nicht. Grob 250 USD, sagen wir mal: wären wir bereit gewesen für ein besseres Essen und besseren Service ca. 15 USD Zuzahlung am Tag zu leisten... Das werden wir nun nicht erfahren.

Aber so ist die Chance vertan worden. Ich sehe keinen echten Mehrwert für das mehr Geld... Also werden wir Aqua-Class zunächst einmal nicht buchen...

Nach unseren Eindrücken auf der CENTURY damals 2008 war es ja die Bewährung für Celebrity. Und das war gut so. Und ich kann viele Fans von Celebrity verstehen, die gebetsmühlenartig Celebrity predigen. Es ist eine gute Gesellschaft, aber letztendlich zählt das Preis-Leistungs-verhältnis insgesamt und andere Mütter haben auch schöne Kinder, die wir gerne wieder besuchen.

Wann und ob wir wieder Celebrity fahren, hängt erst mal von der Bearbeitung meiner "Reklamation" ab: ICH WILL MEIN LEDERETUI HABEN, DAS MIR ALS CONCIERGE CLASS GAST ZUSTEHT. Das ist denen an Bord ausgegangen. So hat nur Bruno eines, das er allerdings nicht rausrückt. Ich würde gerne das Etui haben, und nicht mehr mit den Lanyards rumlaufen und für ein Crew-Mitglied gehalten werden.

Daher mal gucken, was als Reaktion kommt. Die letzte Reaktion von RCI Miami war so saudämlich, dass ich meine Anzahlung für die INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS verschenkt habe und keinesfalls es eilig habe, wieder RCI zu fahren.

Es zählt immer das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und unser Budget (sowohl Zeit als auch Geld). Nun bisher fand ich, dass NCL ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hatte, aber leider höre ich auch von paiagirl (Frances aus cruisecritic.com) die neuesten Entwicklungen. Wir werden auch weiterhin versuchen dort zu buchen, wo es für uns am günstigsten ist. Wenn wir beschränkt werden, dann bleiben eben halt nur die übrig, die wir uns leisten können. Wir werden keinesfalls unnötig mehr zahlen, nur um an Bord die gleichen Leistungen zu erhalten.

Schade, dass damals die Briten und Spanier bei der Buchung für die CELEBRITY ECLIPSE so bevorzugt wurden, sonst wären wir möglicherweise in diesem Jahr wieder mit CELEBRITY gefahren. So fahren wir nun NORWEGIAN EPIC.

Aber vielleicht klappt es ja doch noch mit der CELEBRITY ECLIPSE:

Bis zum 15.02.2010 gibt es ja ein Gewinnspiel. Für uns wäre es ein Wiedersehen mit Ljubi, José usw., die wir auf der CELEBRITY EQUINOX kennenlernen durften und die auf die CELEBRITY ECLIPSE gehen. Ich bin kein großer Freund von Gewinnspielen... Schließlich habe ich ja schon seit zwölf Jahren meinen Hauptgewinn: Bruno... Seitdem habe ich nur Pech im Spiel... Aber die Chance die tollen Crewmitglieder von der CELEBRITY EQUINOX auf der CELEBRITY ECLIPSE wiederzutreffen, möchte ich doch sehr gerne wahrnehmen.

Daher es war eine tolle Kreuzfahrt, die wir hoffentlich lange in guter Erinnerung behalten werden. Und damit die Erinnerung frisch bleiben, noch ein paar Videos...

I was maybe of the most beautful cruise we ever made.

So I am following to reviews and ratings of other cruisers:

beautiful ship

great itinerary

- a very good allocation of the days on sea and a good ratio days on sea and days on shore - especially perfect planning of the eleven nights: Monday until Friday of the next week which allowed an easy traveling to and from your cruise.

I think it was fine that Douglas Ward rated CELEBRITY EQUINOX at a very upper rank. Together with CELEBRITY SOLSTICE just after the Queen Grill-Classes of QUEEN MARY 2 and QUEEN VICTORIA.

Entertainment was very important to me and there was only one comment you can give: a great performance. It was fun.

Especially: They did not leave us in the lurch with our problems which were not occured by them but Lufthansa. The nicest phrase I ever heared: "You are on vacation - we take care of everything. You are doing your tour!". I am logistics manager and I always learned not to count 100% on others and have always an eye on. Cristina and Ljubi said the phrase in such a convincing way that I was able to relax for about 99.9% and not just for 80%. Some interior flurry was always left: so 0.1% I was preparing plan B for the worst case that the baggage would not make it on Cayman Island. And again thank you to Hector and José who had to run so many extra miles because we need to borrow everything we did not have and for being friendly from the first to the last minute and for a great and perfect cabinkeeping.

Great was also all food in the speciality restaurants: To kajomare: let us meet in Düsseldorf, Germany and then you can tell me if I can increase your experience in Silk Harvest. In total great food and superb service in all four specialty restaurants. The different amounts for the cover charge reflect the service and quality of the food. I read somewhere on Tuscan Grille: where a California winery meets a Tuscan steakhouse - or something like that. Maybe that was reason why I could not deal so much with the expression Tuscan Grille although food and service were great as well. It was a pity that from all four speciality restaurants only they were thanking you after your visit for your patronage. It was very nice gesture. Murano was top of the four and we put the visit to our memories we have from Todd English (QUEEN MARY 2, QUEEN VICTORIA), Pinnacle Grill (EURODAM) and L´Étoile (MSC FANTASIA). As I heared from paiagirl (Frances from cruisecritic.com) maybe Le Bistro from NCL will also join this ligue. They increased the cover charge and the level of the food and service. Let us see on NORWEGIAN JADE.

But there were few items which I experienced and which bothered me somehow

1. Stateroom

I was missing a clothesline in the bathroom. If you do not have a laundrette incl. dryer on board I like it if you can hang some wet clothes up after a rainshower or visit of the pool to get the clothes dried.

A handshower would have been nice and not just for Suites- and Aqua-Class-guests: a standard you find on many ships which everybody gets. Not everybody with permanent wave might like the shower cap or to wash the hairs every day...

If they do not provide a laudrette they should provide an affordable laundry bag offer. We were lucky and had coupons. By the way all prices on Celebrity's website were not actual anymore. As more and more airlines restrict the number of complimentary checked baggage it would be very cooperating if you need to travel with less baggage.

Unfortunately all drawers were taken away in the closet so stowage space was very limited somehow. They followed the complaints from guests on CELEBRITY SOLSTICE, but to the other extreme. A compromise for CELEBRITY SILHOUETTE: Drawers in the closet from the ground to a height you can hang without problems jackets, shirts etc. without any trouble with the drawers. A baggage mat would have been also very nice.

A refrigerator which would not heat up the upper drawers.

A coffee machine or water boiler: wake-up - boil your water - take a shower and enjoy with a cup of tea the sunrise from your own balcony... (and to finish the boling of your eggs...).

To offer all public announcements on one TV-channel and to improve the menu and contents...

2. Services in German language

Why do not German speaking guests need to know that tender tickets will be released after 07.30 am but just English speaking guests???

Why do not German speaking guests need to know what is behind the tonight's show???

Why are there no information for escalated situations for non-English-speaking guests??? The information on norovirus was only available in English. A sheet with all important information would have made some additional safety measurements more understoodable and made passengers acting with more responsibility. When we had to return to Cozumel it was possible to have multilingual announcements.

Would not the city- and shopping maps be important for the German guests as well??? They were only part of the English edition of the daily programme.

Even you got the English edition: why were not all contacts of the local agents mentioned for the worst case??? I missed them for Colón and Puerto Limón. I always thought that this information should be the most important information of the daily programme - or???

3. Shore Excursions

Normally we arrange our shore excursions by ourselves. So we did only ship's shore excursions so far with Carnival, Celebrity, P&O and MSC. I felt here to be left in the lurch by Celebrity:

a) wrong information at the phone (beach towels)

b) non-sustained information on the day of the shore excursion (extreme motion sickness during the ferry ride)

c) missing presense at junctions (correct information of the subcontractor (local tour operator) and clear information that they are doing the job on behalf of Celebrity)

4. Services in the Silhouette-Restaurant

It was unluck: we had on our very first day a waiter who was mentioned already in other reviews so we had a reference to him.

But in total it was like we put it on the comments form: we experienced service leves from A to F.

Something was strange and I was asking myself what was true on the story with Celebrity's Policy... but you read also in other reviews the same appearances of the silverware phenomene:

It is unbelievable: you are on the nearby-very-best large ship and you need to keep the silverware for the next course and even you asked for an exchange you get an answer that this is company policy and you have to keep it.

There are some procedures which are standard even on lower rated ships: You complete or replace silverware before you get the next course and it is done during a little break while the table will be cleared and before the next course will be served. Before the main course there should always a break that all have their main course and not one is still with his salad and others are already with their desserts. It was not so bad this time but they need to take attention that all have finished the course before the main course and then cleared.

Which time and motion study engineer consulted Celebrity that they should servce all salads in one section before running at one time again from table to table with the dressing?

From the flavour everything was fine but the soups - no matter where: in your stateroom, in the main dining room in the speciality restaurants: you always had to season your soup. So it was alright if they offer you salt and pepper right after the serving (when we had the norovirus on board): you always need it. But with all other courses I appreciated to have a chance for a bite before I can decide if I should have salt and pepper additionally.

Butter and other spreads which looked rancid or dried out should be better replaced.

As many men were working there as many different stlye of services you could discover:

With the sommeliers:

one walked from one table to the next, noted the orders and everyone got close to their meals their wines.

Another asked at one table, went to get their wine. Then he moved to the next table etc. etc. The last table got their wines with their desserts.

Was there no maître, restaurant-manager, F&B-Manager or Hotel Director who had an eye for it???

With the waiters:

You had normally three to four different sorts of bread:

One waiter sorted the bread sort by sort in the different baskets and if a guest asked at the table for the same sort of bread he was able to serve immediately.

Another waiter came with a mixed little basket like you get it normally on your table. When we asked for a second rye-malt-bread he need to run back to his service-station and try to find one from another basket.

Occassionally we rescheduled our table booking 30 minutes ahead to get right on time to the show. But there was always the question who will be your waiter the night and you might not need to reschedule because you had a very efficient waiter.

Could not the persons-in-charge with Celebrity set a unique style which would meet their own expectations and demand??? Some gave us a service like I would have expected it with HAPAG-LLOYD, SEABOURN, REGENT SEVEN SEAS, CRYSTAL, SILVERSEA and other gave us a service like we would be with LOUIS (I choosed only companies which we do not know personally but expecting it from their ratings).

5. Crew on the first and last day

At the very beginning of our cruise we did not feel very comfortable on the ship because we missed the cordiality and friendliness like we know from the first minute with NCL.

The very first day I estimate that 40% of the crew greeted us at first, 30% responded when we greeted at first and 30% did not greeted us anyway.

It become better with the 2nd day: 60%, 20%, 20%

From the 3rd to the day before the very last day: 90%, 5%, 5%

The very last day was like the very first day...

6. Blu

I would be very interested to have one meal in the Blu to see the difference. It was not even impossible as guest of an Aqua-Class-guest. It was not to be on the scrounge but just to rate the difference of the prices. I never had the wish to try the Queens Grille or the Princess Grille restaurants because the difference of the prices was too huge. Between Aqua-Class and Concierge-Class the difference was not so huge.

I would have been around 275 USD per person at the time of the very best offer.

Let's calculate a little:

We would have maybe made it to the Persian Garden for the four days on sea: 8 x 20 USD = 160 USD
We would not have used half of our water package: 11 x 7 USD = 77 USD
Every day a pot of the iced tea if it would have been as good as in Café al Bacio: 11 x 6 USD = 66 USD
= 303 USD for 11 days... 550 USD...

I do not see a personal use for the shower heads.

So I would have really liked to know if the 250 USD extra was fine for maybe additional service and quality of the food. It was like 15 USD per day per person for coverage charge... But we will never know this now...

They missed the chance to convince me. I do not see any additional benefit for the extra money... So we will not book Aqua-Class for the next time...

After our impressions from CENTURY in 2008 Celebrity was on probation. It was good this way. And I can fully under stand the fans of Celebrity who recommend Celebrity like a mantra. It is a good company but finally the value for money counts and other mothers do have nice children which we also like to see again.

When and if we are going again Celebrity depends how they treat my "claim": I WANT TO HAVE MY LEATHER KEY CARD COVER WHICH I DESERVE AS CONCIERGE CLASS GUEST. On the ship they ran out. So Bruno had one which he does not want to give me. I want to have the same that I do need anymore to walk around with a lanyard and identified as crew member.

Let us see which reaction we get. The last reaction from RCI Miami was so stupid that I gave my deposit for INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS away and I am not under pressure to go with RCI again.

It is only the value for money which counts and our budget (time and money). So far I think that NCL had a great value for money but I hear also from paiagirl (Frances from cruisecritic.com) the newest developement. We still we book there where it is the best for us. If they limit us then only those are left which we can afford. I do not see a need to pay more than necessary just to get the same performance like the others on board.

What a shame that then British and Spanish customers were preferred with their CELEBRITY ECLIPSE-bookings otherwise we would be again this year with CELEBRITY. So we are going now on NORWEGIAN EPIC.

Unser Flug ist nicht verspätet

Our flight was not delayed.

Lufthansa was located in the very rear part of hall J.

Lufthansa befindet sich ganz weit hinten in der Halle J.

Als Senator darf ich den First Class Check-In nutzen.

As senator (frequent flyer status) I was allowed to use the check-in for the first class passengers.

For one more year I can use this privilege.

Noch ein Jahr kann ich dieses Privileg nutzen.

Unsere Gepäckstücke werden entsprechend gekennzeichnet. Mal gucken, ob wir sie als erster in Frankfurt bekommen.

Our baggage was tagged accordingly. Let's see if they will be the first in Frankfurt.

One year I did not say anything to Bruno to surprise him. On the outward journey there were only seats in economy class available on mileage and for the return journey there were no business but first class. So I thought: once in your lifetime... Bruno was really surprised when he got the first class bording pass.

Ein Jahr lang habe ich die Klappe gehalten, um Bruno zu überraschen. Weil es auf dem Hinflug nur Economy auf Meilen gab und auf dem Rückflug keine Business Class aber First Class, habe ich mir gedacht: einmal im Leben... Bruno ist überrascht, als er die First Class Bordkarte bekommt.

Wir müssen ja noch den Wagen zurückgeben. Unten an der Gepäckausgabe warten noch Mitarbeiter von NCL, die ihre Gäste in die Hotels oder auf das Schiff bekommen müssen. Hier kann man sich über die Flat-Rates der Taxen informieren.

We need to return the car. At the baggage claim agents from NCL were there to move guests to the ship or hotels. And here you get information about the flat-rates for the taxis.

For the port there was a flat-rate like for the hotels in Miami downtown and other districts.

Also für den Hafen gilt eine Flat-Rate genauso für die Hotels in Miami Downtown und anderen Stadtbezirken.

Den Wagen haben wir abgegeben und zum Rückflug müssen wir im Shuttle zurück.

We returned the car and we need to take the shuttle back to the airport.

The check-in told us that we should calculate 25 minutes for the TSA security check. So we went to Club America J which was also lounge for Lufthansa guests.

Uns teilt die Gepäckabfertigung mit, dass die Sicherheitskontrollen zur Zeit 25 Minuten in Anspruch nehmen. Also gehen wir in den Club America J, die auch die Lounge für Lufthansa Gäste ist.

Wir werden dort abgeholt, damit wir uns zum Flugzeug begeben. TSA hat den Priority Zugang für Lufthansa-Gäste geschlossen. Mit viel Überredungskunst schleust uns Mr Pinon von Lufthansa durch die erste Schleuse. Dann geht er vor und denkt, dass wir als nächstes drankommen. Gegen eine reinrassige junge Brasilianerin von TAM, die dem TSA-Beamten schöne Augen macht, hat er keine Chance. Übrigens dachte er, dass ich ihn verklagen will, wenn ich den Flieger nicht bekomme. Ich erkläre ihm jedoch, dass er der erste überhaupt von Lufthansa in den USA sei, der sich darum gekümmert hat, dass man in so einer Situation auch sein Flugzeug erreicht und dass wollte ich gerne noch Lufthansa schreiben.

Someone came to the lounge and escorted us to the flight. But TSA closed the priority access for Lufthansa-passengers. With a lot of persuation Mr Pinon from Lufthansa get us through the first checkpoint. Then he moved through and thought that we will be the next. But against an attractive and young Brazilian girl from TAM who had some nice eyes for the TSA-agent he had no chance. He thought that I would sew him if I will not catch our flight. I explained him that he was the very first from Lufthansa in the USA who took care of us to reach the flight in such a situation and that was I would like to tell Lufthansa.

Lufthansa's first class' seats were like other airlines' business class. You can fully recline the seats for sleeping but Air France's was much more better. But when Lufthansa will introduce the new Airbus A 380 there should be a new first class avaiable.

Die First Class der Lufthansa entspricht leider von den Sitzen her schon der Business Class anderer Airlines. Man kann zwar voll flach schlafen, aber die von Air France ist besser. Aber mit dem A 380 soll es ja besser werden.

Wir lassen uns verwöhnen....

Mitlerweile bin ich schon so müde, dass ich das Dessert gar nicht mehr genießen kann...

The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast... What a shame that were never such exotic fruits available on board and you had every day the same melons in green, yellow and red plus some pineabble... like with MSC...

Am nächsten Morgen geht es mit einem schönen Frühstück weiter... Schade, dass es auf dem Schiff nicht auch mal schöne exotische Früchte gab, sondern jeden Tag nur Melonen: grün, gelb, rot plus Ananas... Zustände wie bei MSC...

Endlich mal wieder ein deutsches Müsli für Bruno.

Ich nehme ein letztes Rührei...

In Düsseldorf trennen sich die Wege von Katie, Charlie und uns. Wir müssen weiter nach Frankfurt während sie beide den ICE Richtung Hannover nehmen. Da ich BahnCard 100-Kunde bin, habe ich ihnen einen kostenlosen Gepäcktransport nach Hause besorgt, so dass sie den großen Koffer nicht selbst schleppen müssen. Im Sheraton hatten sie die Nacht vor dem Hinflug verbracht. Hier lassen sie auch den Koffer für die Abholung durch Hermes stehen. Wir gehen noch in die Lounge und leider hat unser Flug etwas Verspätung.

In Dusseldorf we need to say good-bye to Katie and Charlie. We need to continue for Frankfurt while they took the ICE InterCity Express high-speed-train towards Hanover. As I have an annual pass for the entire network of German Railways I could arrange a free of charge transportation of the big bag so that they did not need to carry it themselves. They stayed the night before their flight at the Sheraton. So they were allowed to leave the bag there until it will be collected. We went to the lounge but our flight was late.

Now I knew what kind of service you get in the domestic business class.

Wir kommen auf einer Vorfeldposition an. Umsteiger mit sehr kurzen Umsteigezeiten werden bereits erwartet und kommen in einen Extrabus.

We arrived at an airfield position. Transfer guests with very short connecting times were expected and put into an extra bus.

Our baggage arrived indeed as the very first one.

Unser Gepäck kommt tatsächlich als allererstes an.

Unseren Gutschein für die vorausbezahlten Parkgebühren vom 03. bis 16.01.2010 halten wir bereit.

We kept our voucher for the prepaid parking from January 03 to 16 ready.

145.00 EUR it should be without prepayment. We paid around 70.00 EUR. 10.00 EUR more than with our other preferred parking Platzhirsch for twelve days. But we had our car directly under the terminal building.

145,00 EUR hätte es also ohne Vorauszahlung gekostet. Wir haben damals um die 70,00 EUR bezahlt. 10,00 EUR mehr als im Platzhirsch für zwölf Tage. Dafür stehen wir direkt unter dem Terminal.

Als wir den Gutschein einführen, werden 27,50 EUR Nachzahlung verlangt. Wohl ein Programmierungsfehler, weil die Preise zwischenzeitlich angehoben wurden. Der Techniker des Parkautomaten interessiert es nicht. Er ruft in die Rufanlage, dass wir uns weigern nachzuzahlen. Für THEORETISCHE fünf Stunden: 27,50 EUR, wobei der Tagessatz 25,00 EUR wäre... Nur bei den vorausbezahlten Parkkarten wird tageweise abgerechnet. Das weiss er nicht und will es auch nicht wissen.

When we entered the voucher 27.50 EUR were requested. Was it an error when they programmed it because the prices increased? The technician who was in charge for the ticket machine was not interested very much in our opinion. He just cried out loud that we refused to pay more. For THEORETICAL five hours 27.50 EUR while the max. day rate is 25.00 EUR... But with prepaid tickets you do not count by hours but by days. He did not know it but he was not interested to learn about.

At home we need first to clear off our entrance and parking from snow. Our first job: For paiagirl (Frances from cruisecritic.com) we arranged the dispatch of the box which we should send on her behalf to steinfilm (Hans-Hermann and Carmen)... And now the end came for the most wonderful voyage... Some videos will follow and the conclusion in the next days... We will tell you again once we are on ARTEMIS in April 2010.

Zu Hause müssen wir zunächst Schnee schippen, damit wir überhaupt ins Haus kommen und das Auto parken können. Unser 1. Gang: Für paiagirl (Frances aus cruisecritic.com) die Paketmarke drucken, damit wir das Päckchen sofort an steinfilm (Hans-Hermann und Carmen) weiterschicken können... Und nun nimmt auch die wunderschönste Reise mal sein Ende... Ein paar Videos und das Fazit folgt noch in den nächsten Tagen... Wir melden uns dann wieder von der ARTEMIS im April 2010.

Um 06.00 Uhr ist noch nichts los... also der ideale Zeitpunkt für Frühstück.

At 06.00 am there was nothing... so best time to have breakfast.

It became more and more crowd...

Es wird allerdings immer voller...

Vor allem, weil man sich ja nicht selbst bedienen darf, geht alles etwas langsamer.

As you were not allowed to help yourself it took a little time.

Especially some appeared with their baggage in the buffet restaurant.

Vor allem, wenn einige schon samt Gepäck im SB-Restaurant auftauchen.

Lt. deutschem Programm sollte auf einer des Silhouette-Restaurants ein Express-Frühstück serviert werden und auf der anderen Seite ein Frühstücksbüffet aufgebaut sein. Ein Frühstücksbüffet finden wir nicht, zumal der Teil bereits geschlossen ist. Wir bekommen allerdings normales Frühstück aus der Karte. Die Maîtres haben irgendwie keinen Blick für so eine Situation und so hilft Charlie dem Mann aus seinem Rollstuhl raus.

According to the German programme one side of the Silhouette-Restaurant should offer the express-breakfast and on the other side there should be breakfast buffet available. We did not find the breakfast buffet especially as this part was already closed. We got the regular breakfast from the menu. The maîtres do not have a view for such an situation so Charlie helped the gentleman out of his scooter.

Bruno's muffic was not baked to the end. So everything was sticky on the baking-tin.

Brunos Muffin war nicht durchgebacken. Alles klebte an der Backform fest.

Als Charlie um etwas warme Milch für seinen Kaffee bat, wurde er nicht auf einen Kollegen verwiesen, sondern sie brachte ihm die Milch mit einem wunderschönen Lächeln.

When Charlie asked for some hot milk for his coffee she did not call a collegue and got him his milk with a wonderful smile.

That were the melons which I tried to order the day before. There was a difference to the fruit plate.

Das sind jetzt die Melonen, die ich gestern versucht hatte zu bestellen. Es gibt also in der Tat einen Unterschied zum Früchteteller.

Wieder habe ich meine Wurstplatte bestellt.

I ordered again my cold cut plate.

Two different waiters told me that there was no brioche available and so I took a croissant.

Von zwei verschiedenen Kellnern bekomme ich die Antwort, dass es keine Brioches gibt und daher nehme ich ein Croissant.

Ich bekomme vor meinem nächsten Gang das Besteck.

I got before my next course was served clean silverware.

And then I experienced the most perfect service: At first Katie got her plate served from the right side.

Und dann erlebe ich Service in Perfektion: Zunächst bekommt Katie von rechts serviert.

Und dann Charlie von rechts.

And then Charlie from the right side.

It was really a shame that the service level drifted apart so extremely in the Silhoutte-Restautrant.

Echt schade, dass der Servicestandard im Silhouette-Hauptrestaurant so extrem auseinanderdriftet.

Das war ein echter Höhepunkt am Schluss. Auch der Barkellner vom Vorabend hat uns wieder erkannt und fragt, ob er uns Evian holen soll, statt des Eiswassers.

This was a true highlight at the end. Also the bar waiter remembered us from last night and offered us to get us some Evian instead of ice-water.

That was my very last meal.

So sieht also meine Henkersmahlzeit aus.

Wie üblich baue ich mir wieder meine Sandwiches.

Again I was erecting my sandwiches...

And then there were brioches... two waiters did not like to walk an extra mile...

Und es gab doch Brioches... da hatten wohl zwei keine Lust welche zu holen...

Armstrong haben wir gefragt, ob er im Select Dining Bereich serviert. Er bestätigt das, allerdings hat er immer sehr weit hinten serviert. Hätten wir ihn (oder die Jungs vom 2. und 3. Abend) gehabt: wir wären uns vorgekommen wie elf Nächte im Muranos.

We asked Armstrong if he was serving in the select dining section. He confirmed but he was in the very rear part. Guessed we would have him (or our waiters from the 2nd and 3rd night): it would have been like dining eleven nights in Murano's.

Later we learned that there only two ways to get one of his table: 1. You are checking with ebay if there are some speculator who have passengers like me as their target and blocked his tables to auctioneer his table or 2. you order a private investigator in Essen, Germany to check for some skeletons in Inga's closet to have a pressuring medium to the requested table.

Später haben wir erfahren, dass es nur zwei Wege gab, an einen seiner Tische zu kommen: 1. Man guckt unter ebay, ob Spekulaten, die es auf Passagiere wie mich abgesehen haben, Tische blockiert haben, um sie meistbietend zu verhökern oder 2. Man beauftragt einen Privatdetektiv in Essen nach Leichen im Ingas Keller zu suchen, die man als Druckmittel benutzt, um einen Wunschtisch zu bekommen.

Ob wir es nächstes Mal mit einer Heckkabine es versuchen sollten???

Should we try a cabin at the aft the next time?

My underwater camera became a full of water camera. You could see the water in the lenses.

Meine Unterwasserkamera ist zur Vollwasserkamera geworden. Drinnen sieht man das Wasser in der Linse.

Unten sieht man schon, dass die Desinfektionsmittel überall schon verteilt werden. Jeder muss ran.

Downstairs they started to distribute the sanitizers. Everybody need to help.

In our hallway the stewards were working with breathing masks. I felt sorry for Hector as he need to do everything by himself. José left already homeward bound from the ship and his successor was not there already.

In unseren Gängen arbeiten die Kabinenstewards mit Atemmasken. Hector tut mir leid, da er alles alleine machen muss: José ist schon von Bord auf der Heimreise und sein Nachfolger noch nicht da.

Katie und Charlie lassen wir samt Gepäck im Café al Bacio, während wir ins Theater gehen. Dort läuft CNN. Man entschuldigt sich für den verspäteten Ablauf.

We left Katie and Charlie including all bags at the Café al Bacio while we went to the theatre. There you can watch CNN. The crew apologied for the delay.

Everybody was standing at the exit and all bags. We just sit downstairs and relaxed.

Alles steht oben mit Gepäck und wartet am Ausgang. Wir warten unten in Ruhe.

Mit etwa zehn Minuten Verspätung kommt die Durchsage 34, 35 und 36 werden aufgerufen. Es ist ca. 10.00 Uhr.

With a delay of about ten minutes the announcement for 34, 35 and 36 came. It was about 10.00 am.

The queue ended at the theatre. So we stayed in Café al Bacio and watching the Guru's entertainment. He tried to prepare the guests for the document checks ashore.

Die Schlange reicht jedoch bis zum Theater, so dass wir einfach im Café al Bacio warten und dem Guru bei seiner Unterhaltung zugucken. Er versucht die Massen bereits auf die Kontrollen vorzubereiten.

Wir warten lieber nochmals 30 Minuten.

We preferred to wait another 30 minutes.

The price board was still there.

Das Preisschild hängt noch.

Aber wir bekommen kein Eis mehr.

But we do not get anymore ice-cream.

Moeve (Alexandra) left the ship. What did her face said??? Was she happy that she had more responsibility for the group soon??? Was she looking forward to the snow in Germany??? Or was she just sad that the nice voyage was coming to the end??? I guess it was from everything a little - but we felt the same - but we did not look forward for the snow in Germany!!!

Da verlässt moeve (Alexandra) das Schiff. Was sagt ihr Gesichtsadruck? Ist sie froh, dass sie die Last der Gruppenleitung bald los ist??? Freut sie sich auf den Schnee in Deutschland??? Oder ist sie traurig, dass diese schöne Reise zu Ende geht??? Wahrscheinlich ist das von allem etwas - aber genauso fühlen wir uns auch - nur auf den Schnee in Deutschland freuen wir uns nicht!!!

Die Anzeige ist wohl nicht für mich bestimmt.

This was not displayed for me - I guess.

I was not allowed anymore to take pictures... so let me tell what happened then: Just after leaving the ship the first time our passports were check. Then there was a junction where one agent sorted out US-citizens and Canadians and delegate them downstairs. Only on request you got the information that international guests need to continue to walk. This was a dead end = waiting lounge (at the time we were arriving). I was just cleaning the lenses of my camera when after few seconds the rumor made the round that also Non-US-citizens may walk back and walk downstairs as well. I was so shocked that I came on the bottom when everybody started to run.

Ich darf also nicht mehr fotografieren... also erzähle ich mal, wie es weiter ging. Sobald wir das Schiff verlassen haben, wurde schon zum 1. Mal der Reisepass kontrolliert. Dann stand an einer Weiche eine Mitarbeiterin, die die US-Bürger und Kanadier nach unten weiterschickte. Erst auf Nachfrage wurde uns erklärt, dass wir als internationale Gäste weiterlaufen müssten. Das war jedoch eine Sackgasse = Warteraum (zu dem Zeitpunkt als wir kamen). Ich bin gerade dabei meine Kamera zu reinigen, als nach wenigen Sekunden ein Gerücht losging, dass jetzt auch Nicht-US-Bürger wieder zurück und runterlaufen können. Vor lauter Schreck habe ich auf den Auslöser gedrückt, als der Run losging.

Unten eine Halle, die richtig schön voll war. Leider war unklar, wo 36 eigentlich war und auch die Mitarbeiter von RCI wussten es nicht so genau. Irgendwann haben wir es gefunden. Gepäckträger gab es keine mehr. Wir müssen mit Gepäck dann eine Riesenschlange bilden. RCI-Mitarbeiter haben aber die Schlange nicht so ganz unter Kontrolle, weil undisziplinierte immer versuchen, eine Abkürzung zu nehmen. Die Absperrbänder stehen unbenutzt in der Ecke. Als alle US-Bürger und Kanadier abgefertigt sind, werden auch diese Schalter für internationale Gäste freigegeben. 15 Minuten bevor wir die Abfertigung erreichen gibt es mal wieder einen freien Gepäckträger, der jeden Cent Wert ist.

Down in the hall it was absolutely full. It was unclear where 36 was and even the RCI-agents did not know it either. Later we found it. No porters were available. We had to queue up an endless line. But the RCI-agents did not have the control of the queue because guests without discipline tried to made shortcuts everytime the queue winded. They did not use the guiding belts to organize real queues so they were left in the corners. When all US-citizens and Canadians were checked these counters were open for international guests as well. 15 minutes before we reached the counters a porter was availalbe who was worth each cent.

Around noon we were outside and the porter helped to find a suitable taxi without queuing up.

Gegen 12.00 Uhr sind wir raus und der Gepäckträger sucht dir ein passendes Taxi, ohne dass du Schlange stehen muss.

Die Fahrt zum Flughafen kostet 12,90 USD. Weil der Taxifahrer keine Lust hat, uns zu HERTZ reinzufahren, gibt es weniger Trinkgeld. Die anderen warten praktisch mitten auf der Ausfahrt, während ich unseren Wagen suche.

The ride to the airport was 12.90 USD but as the driver refused to get us into HERTZ area. So his tip was less than normal. So the others waited in the exit area while I was looking for the car.

As I was later than 60 minutes than planned my name was not anymore on the board so I need to queue up for some minutes and got us this wonderful car. This should become my next car.

Da ich aber mit mehr als 60 Minuten Verspätung den Wagen abhole, steht mein Name nicht mehr auf der Anzeigentafel und ich muss mich kurz anstellen, und hole für uns dieses wunderbare Auto heraus, das ein echtes Kofferraumwunder ist. Das wird mein nächstes Auto...

Eine Riesenschlange leider auch bei der Ausfahrt.

Wir fahren zu Sawgrass Mills und essen erst Mal Chinesisch: P. F. Chang (eine etwas gehobenere US-Kette). Noch haben wir den Geschmack von Silk Harvest im Mund.

We went to Sawgrass Mills and had some Chinese lunch: P. F. Chang (a better US-chain). We still had the flavour of Silk Harvest in our mouth.

There was no need to season the soup subject you wanted.

Die Suppen musste man nicht, aber konnte man etwas nachwürzen.

Das Rennen um die Wan-Tan-Suppe hat P. F. Chang gemacht. Aber das war ja leider auf dem kompletten Schiff ein Problem, dass alle Suppen ziemlich ungewürzt waren. Vor allem: Die Wan-Tan entsprechen mehr dem chinesischen Original.

P. F. Chang won the battle on the Won-Ton-Soup. But this was a problem of the whole ship that all soups seemed to be underseasoned. But here: the won-tons was more Chinese original style.

But with all other food Silk Harvest won.

Bei allem anderen hat aber das Silk Harvest gewonnen.

Zum EInkaufen bleibt uns nur noch eine Stunde Zeit. Hier sollte man schon einen ganzen Tag einplanen.

Only about one hour time was left to do some shopiing. You better plan a whole day here.

The dimensions were so large that you cannot walk all the ways. We used the car from one entrance to the next.

Diese Dimensionen sind fußläufig gar nicht mehr erschließbar. Wir fahren von einem EIngang zum anderen.

Da bei der Gepäckkontrolle wieder mal ein TSA-Schloss verloren gegangen ist, kaufe ich schon mal eines nach und einen Ersatz.

Due to the baggage check one of the TSA locks get lost. I bought a replacement and one more for the future.

On the way to the airport we passed the corporated offices of Carnival and NCL.

Auf dem Weg zum Flughafen kommen wir an Carnival vorbei und auch an NCL.

Leider ist schon das Festland rund um Miami zu erkennen. Bald geht dieses schöne Reise zu Ende.

Unfortunately you can see the mainland around Miami. Soon our nice voyage will be finished.

Should not we berth at 07.00 am???

Sollten wir nicht um 07.00 Uhr erst anlegen?

Aber das ist eindeutig Port Everglades.

But that was Port Everglades for sure.

I disliked to leave the ship.

Ich mag gar nicht aussteigen.

ellbon (Robin aus cruisecritic.com) hat eine back-to-back gebucht und ihre größte Sorge ist, wie sie den Tag rumbringt, da erst ab 17.00 Uhr wieder Passagiere an Bord dürfen: entweder für 150 USD Taxi fahren oder eine Stadtrundfahrt. Sie kennt jedoch alles und will beides nicht.

ellbon (Robin from cruisecritic.com) booked a back-to-back and her major concern was how to spend the day as passengers were allowed to be back on board after 05.00 pm: either 150 USD in cash for taxi etc. or a sightseeing tour: as she knew everything she did not want both.

Somehow darkness was strange for a sunshine state like Florida.

Irgendwie kann man sich Dunkelheit in dem Sonnenstaat Florida so schwer vorstellen.

Am besten geht man gleich zu Bett und zieht sich die Decke über den Kopf, bis dass es hell und warm ist.

I had bone to pick with Captain Michael Karatzas because he berthed already at 06.00 am instead at 07.00 am. But I knew how the business ran so I waked up much earlier.

Mit Kapitän Michael Karatzas werde noch ein Hühnchen rupfen, weil er um 06.00 Uhr statt um 07.00 Uhr anlegt. Aber ich kenne ja meine Pappenheimer und bis deswegen ja schon früher aufgestanden.

Als Kapitän Michael Karatzas jedoch am Pier 18 in Fahrtrichtung anlegt, verzeihe ich ihm großzügig... denn er hat sich ja nur für mich beeilt, damit ich einen Logenplatz habe, wenn die anderen Schiffe alle reinkommen.

When Captain Michael Karatzas berthed at Pier 18 facing the direction of sailing I forgave him... I think that he made the pressure that I had the best seats for the arriving ships.

First of all there was GRAND PRINCESS entering Fort Lauderdale.

Zunächst kommt die GRAND PRINCESS wieder nach Fort Lauderdale.

Und wendet genau vor mir.

She turned around just in front of me.

Let's see when we will have an occassion to go with her again.

Mal gucken, wann wir es mal wieder schaffen mit ihr zu fahren.

Würde sie auch ihre 2. Chance nutzen, wie Celebrity???

Would she also take the second chance to convince us like Celebrity???

But then there is OCEAN PRINCESS in fall.

Andererseits wir sind ja auf der OCEAN PRINCESS im Herbst.

Als nächstes kommt die CARNIVAL MIRACLE.

She also turned just in front of me.

Auch sie dreht genau vor mir.

So dass ich schön lange etwas von ihr habe.

Great I was able to enjoy the view a very long time.

The sun just rised when she reached her final berthing position.

I did not wait for BAHAMAS CELEBRATION as I want to use the time to have breakfast before we were leaving the ship.

Neben uns fährt nun die NORWEGIAN DAWN.

Next to us there was NORWEGIAN DAWN.

In the afternoon I wanted to test the new swimming shorts and the new underwater camera which we bought for our private tour on Grand Cayman as replacement of the equipement which were with Lufthansa. So I went to the Solarium.

Nachmittags will ich endlich die neue Badehose und die neue Unterwasserkamera ausprobieren, die wir ja extra für den Ausflug auf den Kaimanninseln als Ersatz für unsere Sachen, die immer noch mit Lufthansa unterwegs waren, gekauft haben. Daher geht es ins Solarium.

Nettes Spielzeug....

Und die Zahlen sind gut zu erkennen...

You can identify properly the figures.

Even objects outside the water were easy to see.

Sogar Objekte oberhalb der Wasseroberfläche sind gut zu erkennen...

The reproduction of the colours was quite good.

This Russian couple need to be my models by exception.

Ausnahmsweise muss dieses russische Ehepaar als Unterwassermodelle herhalten...

Sogar alles gut nach unten hin erkennbar...

So far I was convinced and I was thanking Lufthansa for the nice toy and then... the camera went down and got wrecked inside of water... rien ne va plus...

Bis hierhin hat sie mich überzeugt und ich bedanke mich bei Lufthansa für das nette Spielzeug und dann... soff sie ab und innen war alles voll Wasser... rien ne va plus... nichts geht mehr...

Als wir wieder in die Kabine gehen, sehen wir nun die DISNEY MAGIC (vermutlich...).

Sie verfolgt uns noch bis zum Sonnenuntergang...

Abends hätten wir sehr gerne an einem Tisch Platz genommen, an dem unsere Kellner aus dem 2. und 3. Abend tätig sind. Nur knapp daneben werden wir gesetzt. Wir erfahren heute Abend einen äußerst freundlichen Service. Jemand hat mitgedacht und mischt die Brotkörbe nicht. So muss er nicht mehrfach rennen, wenn aus einem Mischbrotkorb eine Brötchensorte alle ist...

We requested to have a table in the section where we had dinner in the 2nd and 3rd night. They allocated us to a table nearby. We got a very frinedly and nice service. Someone was thinking and did not mix the bread baskets. So he must not ran if one of the breads ran out...

Someone asked if Tonic Water was available on the soda package... it was available... I should have ordered just a gin last time... instead I payed for a long drink....

Irgendeiner fragte an, ob es Tonic Water mit Soda Package gibt... es gibt... Ich hätte letztens nur einen Gin bestellen sollen... stattdessen habe ich den Longdrink bezahlt...

I preferred to have the salmon tartare.

Ich mag lieber das Lachstartar.

Wie üblich fehlt Salz und Pfeffer in der Suppe und am Tisch... aber unsere Kellner entschuldigen sich für den langsameren Ablauf und meinen, dass sie sich für uns auch wünschen würden, dass Salz und Pfeffer am Tisch steht, aber das sie es nur so etwas in unserem Interesse machen würden, damit wir nicht krank werden. Das ist doch eine klasse Ansage...

As usually some salt and pepper was missing in the soup and on the table... but our waiters apologied for the slowere service and told us that they would wish for us that salt and pepper would be available on the tables but they did it only in the sake of our health. That was a great communication...

I did not blog that was missing the salad from CELEBRITY CENTURY... They seemed to read my minds...

Ich hatte ja noch gar nicht geblogt, dass ich diesen Salat von der CELEBRITY CENTURY vermisse... Sie scheinen schon meine Gedanken lesen zu können...

Die anderen nehmen Nudeln mit Meeresfrüchten...

Unser letztes Dessert war ein Bananensorbet. Sehr gefreut habe ich mich übrigens, dass uns der Bar-Kellner sofort wiedererkannt hat und wusste, welche Wasserwünsche wir haben. Ich war überrascht, weil wir ja eine Woche nicht in diesem Bereich waren.

Our last dessert was banana shorbet. I was very delight that our bar-waiter remembered us and what kind of water we liked. I was nicely surprised because we were not there for about one week.

One more time the curtain opened for us... Could we invite him for a beer that our show become double as long as planned???

Noch einmal öffnet sich für uns der Vorhang... Ob wir ihm ein Bier ausgeben können, damit die Show doppelt so lange wird???

Die Gebärdendolmetcherin sehen wir noch nicht.

We had not seen the sign language interpreter so far.

The cruise director welcomed us the very last time... he did a great job. I tought that we liked him very much because he was before with HAL and had the experience to do programme for adults - nothing clownish like we had on NORWEGIAN GEM.

Der Kreuzfahrtdirektor begrüßt uns zum letzten Mal... einen tollen Job hat er gemacht. Ich glaube, dass wir es besonders mochten, weil er zuvor bei HAL war und hier die Erfahrung mitgebracht hat. Programme für Erwachsene - Nichts plumpes, wie zuletzt auf der NORWEGIAN GEM...

Die vier Jungs kommen wieder und heizen das Theater wieder richtig ein.

The four guys came again and heated on the audience in the theatre.

There was a musical geography-lesson.

Es gibt musikalischen Erdkunde-Unterricht.

Und die Jersey Boys...

When I had the idea to buy a CD from them all stores were already closed.

Als ich auf die Idee komme, doch noch eine CD von denen zu erwerben, waren leider die Shops schon zu.

That was the music director.

Very smart was the transmission to the large screens at the sides.

Praktisch war die Übertragung auf die großen BIldschirme an der Seite.

So konnte man alle Details sehr gut verfolgen, auch wenn man nicht in der ersten Reihe saß.

So you could follow all details even you was not in the first row.

I felt sorry for this...

Das war leider schade...

In the German programme there was no describtion of the show.

Im deutschen Programm gibt es gar keine Beschreibungen der Show.

Und im englischen Programm wurde er als Musical Comedian bezeichnet.

In the English programme he was described as a musical comedian.

There we missed a great show. He did a great job by imitating the stars.

Da haben wir leider eine sehr tolle Show verpasst. Der Imitator hat nämlich die Sache ziemlich gut gemacht.

Zum Glück nur Ausschnitte, als ich bereits gegangen bin und daher für mich Neues.

I was lucky to see parts which I missed because I went already and it was somehting new for me.

We had REMIX yesterday.

REMIX hatten wir zwar erst gestern.

Aber sie haben mal wieder das Theater angeheizt.

But they heat up the theater.

At least when they ran from the stage into the audience again.

Spätestens dann, als sie wieder von der Bühne ins Publikum liefen.

Da war auch das Publikum nicht mehr zu halten.

You could not stop the audience.

The last curtain drew.

Damit ist der letzte Vorhang gefallen.

Am Schluss kaufen wir uns zum ersten Mal die DVD von der Reise, an deren Erinnerung wir gerne noch lange zehren möchten.

Finally it was the very first time we bought the DVD of our voyage to live long from our good memories.

Leider geht irgendwann die schönste Kreuzfahrt irgendwann zu Ende. Auch wenn hier die CELEBRITY CENTURY versucht uns daran zu erinnern, warum wir eigentlich an Bord sind: Celebrity nochmals eine zweite Chance zu geben.

Unfortunately every nicest cruise will end somewhen. Even when CELEBRITY CENTURY tried to remind us why we were on board: to give Celebrity a second chance.

Last night there was some trouble with the shore excursion desk. Of course I reported them that I was unpset. I got a form. As I did not want to write down again what I just told them they offered me to fill out the form. We got the same night the confirmation that our claim was registered. I was only surprised that they were not able to transfer my name from their computer properly.

Gestern Abend gab es noch Krach beim Ausflugsschalter. Selbstverständlich habe ich meinen Unmut vorgetragen. Ich bekam darauf ein Formular. Da ich keine Lust hatte, alles was ich vorgetragen hatte, nochmals schriftlich festzuhalten, hat man mir angeboten, dass man für mich das Formular ausfüllt. Die Bestätigung, dass meine Beschwerde eingegangen ist, kam noch in der Nacht. Dass sie meinen Namen nicht mal geschafft haben korrekt aus dem Computer zu übertragen spricht nicht gerade für den Bereich.

Hector und José haben wohl einen Wink von Celebrity bekommen, die schon nachgelesen haben, was wir alles als Souvenirs wohl mitnehmen. Sicherheitshalber wird die Metallschale gegen einen günstigen Teller ausgetauscht.

Hector and José got an information from Celebrity who might read in other blogs what we all took as souvenirs. For safety reason they replaced the metal bowl against a cheaper plate.

Later the confirmation from Miami came that we should get a partial refund os OBC for the tour. I did not take the efforts to write two sheets of paper. Thy got a little more compensation. I am not sure if I would get more if I claimed now that they still were unable to write my name properly. In general I found it fair and it fit to the efforts I had.

Später kam aus Miami die Bestätigung, dass wir einen Teil des Ausflugspreises als OBC gutgeschrieben bekommen. Ich hatte mir nicht die Mühe gemacht, alles selbst aufzuschreiben, aber diejenigen, die sich die Mühe gemacht haben, zwei DIN A 4 Seiten vollzuschreiben, haben auch mehr bekommen. Ob ich noch mehr bekomme, wenn ich mich darüber beschwere, dass sie meinen Namen beim 2. Versuch immer noch nicht korrekt geschrieben haben. Im Großen und Ganzen fand ich es allerdings fair und dem Aufwand angemessen.

For the last morning we got a separate programme. What I missed: towel animals.

Abends hat Celebrity wohl Panik bekommen, dass wir vielleicht den Teller auch noch mitnehmen könnten... der war dann auch weg...

In the night Celebrity got panic that we took the plate... so it was taken away for be sure that we cannot do it.

A unpleasant souvenir I got from Mexico: a bite of a insect which was itchy and a smaller rash breaked out.

Ein unangenehmes Souvenir nehme ich doch aus Mexiko mit: einen Insektenstich, der immer noch ziemlich juckt und zu kleinen Ausschlägen führt...

Wir gehen wieder ins Silhouette-Restaurant zum Frühstück.

Die sind eh gewandert und sie nochmals eine Extrarunde, weil gerade, als sie an mir vorbeiging die Brioche alle waren....

They were walking all the time and she walked an extra round because all brioche ran out just when she came to me.

There was a fruit plate which looked every morning like this one and there was a chilled melon plate which looked as this one too. The pineapple became part of the family of melons. So I had no idea what was the difference between the two items on the breakfast menu.

Es gibt den Obstteller, der jeden Morgen so aussieht und die kalte Melonenplatte, die anscheinend auch so aussieht. Die Ananas wurde kurzerhand in die Familie der Melonen aufgenommen. Daher keine Ahnung, was der Unterschied zwischen den beiden Sachen auf der Karte ist.

Mein Frittata mit Labskaus kommt. Nun muss man wieder warten, bis dass der Toast kommt...

My frittata with corned hash came. Now I had to wait until the toast arrived.

This came somewhen later but the waiter did not see that I had no more butter...

Der kommt irgendwann - nur leider sieht der Kellner nicht, dass die Butter alle ist...

Mein Kellner ist verschwunden... (liegt an dem Prinzip, dass sobald ein Distrikt abgefüttert ist, die Kellner in einem neuaufgemachten Bezirk weiterarbeiten...). Die Maitres bekommen nicht mit, dass ich geschätzte acht MInuten da sitze, ohne mich zu rühren. Irgendwann kommt ein Kellner vorbei, dem es wohl aufgefallen ist und fragt nach, ob mir das Frittata nicht schmeckt. Ich sage ihm, dass ich gerne Salz, Pfeffer und Butter hätte. Mir werden sofort die Salz- und Pfeffermühlen auf den Tisch gestellt, damit ich Ruhe gebe. Es dauert nochmals ein paar Minuten, bis dass die Butter kommt... aber leider kein Angebot mir ein neues Frittata zu holen, weil zwischenzeitlich alles kalt ist. Aber es wäre eh egal gewesen, weil es eh auch mit Salz und Pfeffer nicht geschmeckt hat. Hier hätte glaube ich nur noch jede Menge Ketchup und Tabasco geholfen.

My waiter was disappeared... (but it was policy: as soon as one district got all food the waiters continued in another district which was newly open for further guests...). The maitres did not see that I was waiting for about eight minutes without any moving. Sometimes later one waiter who saw that I did not eat and asked if the frittata was not good. I told him that I wanted to have some butter, salt and pepper. I got immediately salt- and peppermill to calm me down. But it took another some minutes until I get some butter... but no offer that I could get a new frittata which became meanwhile cold. But never mind: Even with salt and pepper you could not eat it. I thought only ketchup and tabasco could help to get some flavour inside.

I used the waiting time to observe Remigius and his work. He was there for HIS guests... Nothing like collegue will come with sugar... He ran and grap it himself that you can continue to eat without it became cold...

Die Wartezeit habe ich genutzt, Remigius bei der Arbeit zu beobachten. Der war für SEINE Gäste da... Nix da mit Kollege kommt gleich mit dem Zucker... Der ist losgelaufen, und hat alles schnell selbst geholt, damit man weiteressen konnte, ohne dass alles kalt wird...

Wie üblich hängen wir wieder im Café al Bacio. Draußen wird sauber gemacht.

Drüben am Bistro at Five sitzen Kapitän Michael Karatzas und Hoteldirektor Raffaele Bernardini auf ein Tässchen Kaffee. Ich bedanke mich für die Unterschrift im Douglas Ward. Natürlich werde ich gefragt, wie mir die Kreuzfahrt gefällt. Meine Antwort: schönes Schiff - schade, dass es am Besteck scheitert... Der Hoteldirektor hört doch zu und war auch über die Aussage der Kellner erstaunt, dass es angeblich Celebrity's Policy sei, dass man das Besteck behalten soll...

Opposite in front of the Bistro at Five the Captain Michael Karatzas and the Hotel Director Raffaele Bernardini had a cup of coffee. I thanked him for signing my Douglas Ward. Of course I was asked how I liked it. My answer: a very nice ship - but what a shame that they had so many problems with the silverware... The hotel director was listening and surprised about the waiter's comment that it should be Celebrity's Policy to keep the silverware...

Bruno went outside to take some pictures.

Bruno geht ein wenig nach draußen um zu fotografieren.

Zu Hause will er wohl auf unserem Balkon eine Rettungsstation aufbauen und fotografiert schon mal die Instruktionen.

He would like to install a life boat station on our balcony at home and so he took pictures of the instructions.

Now we got cans instead of glasses. Was it because of the norovirus???

Auf einmal gibt es Dosen statt Gläser. Ob es am Norovirus liegt???

Ein paar Russen wollen zusammensitzen und bauen mich kurzerhand zu. Selbst die Kellner kommen kaum noch durch. Aber denen ist das egal.

Some Russians wanted to sit together and they pushed all their chairs in front of me so even the waiters had to chance to transit. But they did not take care.

In the main dining room there was a wine tasting in the afternoon on deck 3. We asked one waiter and he invited us to join. With love and passion they started to distribute the wine although no guests had arrived so far... Would some of the waiters be so good to us like the sommeliers to their wine... I totally could become envy to the wine...

Im Hauptrestaurant findet auf Deck 3 nachmittags eine Weinprobe statt. Ein Kellner den wir darauf ansprechen, lädt uns ein. Mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft wird der Wein schon vorher eingeschenkt, auch wenn der Gast nicht dabei ist... Würde mancher der Kellner uns so behandeln, wie die Sommeliere die Weine... Ich bin richtig neidisch auf den Wein...

Das ist übrigens Joaquim, stellvertretend für ein nettes Team rund um das Café al Bacio. Er war der erste der nett war und uns nicht abgewiesen hat, als wir unser Wasser- bzw. Sodapackage kaufen wollten. Wir haben diesem Team eine Packung mit Schokoladentäfelchen aus Deutschland geschenkt, weil die wirklich alle sehr nett waren. Ist nichts besonderes, lediglich eine Geste. Getippt haben wir eh für jeden Gang extra. Weitere Schokoladentäfelchen gab es für die Rezeption und das Murano. Dort hat sich der Maître besonders gefreut und meinte, dass zwar Code Red wäre und drückte mir erst die Hand und danach ein Sanitizertuch noch in die Hand. Sein letzter Abend. Er hat sich über die positive Kritik gefreut, wollte die Schokolade zu dem Sekt reichen, den er heute Abend seinem Team ausgeben wollte.

By the way that was Joaquim - representing a very nice team around Café de Bacio. He was the first who was nice to us and did not refuse us to sell us a water- and sodapackage. We gave this team a package with German chocolate as a gesture to honor their nice behaviour to us. Nothing special - just tried to be nice. We gave them for each single run extra tipping. More chocolate we gave to reception desk and Murano. The maître was very pleased about our gesture and said that he wanted to shake my hands although it was code red. After this he gave me some sanitizer. His last night. He was happy to hear that we liked it very much and wanted to share the chocolate with some champagne he wanted to celebrate later with his team for his farewell.

Much too late we discovered that they had two different tea brands in Café de Bacio. The leaves of tea were folded one by one to little balls... Great...

Viel zu spät entdecken wir, dass es zwei Teemarken im Café al Bacio gibt. Die Teeblätter sind einzeln zu Kügelchen gerollt... Geil...

Mal gucken, ob wir die Marke irgendwo in Deutschland auch kaufen können.

Let's see if we can get this brand in Germany as well.

Unfortunately the chair remained empty as Justin Wade was sick and had no voice anymore. But I was lucky that I had already his autograph on the CD and could listen him at home.

Leider bleibt der Stuhl heute leer, da Justin Wade erkrankt ist und keine Stimme mehr hat. Zum Glück habe ich ja sein Autogramm auf der CD bereits und kann ihn zu Hause wieder hören.

Dafür machen die Acapella-Sänger ein paar MInuten länger.

When we entered the restaurant for lunch we could see that they need some table to dry the pots.

Als wir zum Mittagessen das Restaurant betreten, werden manche Tische wohl dafür verwendet, um die Kannen zu trocknen...

Uns wird ein Brotkorb hingestellt, damit wir schon mal was zu knabbern haben...

We got a bread basket to have something to bite.

Again we had the chance to have the wonderful baby spinach salad. But with lunch there were no bacon bits.

Nochmals haben wir die Chance den leckeren Baby-Spinat-Salat zu essen. Nur mittags gibt es ihn ohne Speckwürfelchen.

Wir prügeln uns um die Blaukäsebrötchen... Lecker... Deswegen haben die Kellner Pech, die uns den Brotkorb hingestellt haben, um uns zu beschäftigen... Wir beschäftigen sie, damit sie uns mehr von den Blaukäse-Brötchen bringen....

We fighted for the blue cheese rolls... yummy... so the waiters who placed a bread basket to keep us busy had unluck... we kept them busy to have some more of the blue-cheese rolls...

The lunch in Silhouette-Restaurant was not very exiting. Maybe we better should have gone to Aqua Spa Café again.

Das Mittagessen im Silhouette-Restaurant ist nicht besonders aufregend. Vermutlich wären wir doch besser wieder ins Aqua Spa Café gegangen.

Bruno hatte etwas mit Truthahn bestellt, und in der Tat die zwei Fitzelchen gefunden...

Cellulitis-Behandlung... UNVERSCHÄMTHEIT...

Wegen eines Medizinischen Notfalls müssen wir nach Cozumel zurück. Bis dass ich gemerkt habe, dass die CARNIVAL IMAGINATION noch dort liegt und mein Stativ aufgebaut ist, ist leider die Ruhephase des Schiffes vorbei. Erstmalig kommen diese Ansagen auch in deutscher, französischer und spanischer Übersetzung. Aber leider wieder nur im Gang und nicht in der Kabine.

Due to a medical incident we need to return to Cozumel. Until I saw that CARNIVAL IMAGINATION was still there and installed my tripod the ship was moving again. The very first time announcements were made in German, French, Spanish translation. Again only available outside your stateroom in the gangway.

We got the same table like the night before.

Wir bekommen den Tisch, wie am Abend zuvor.

Die Hummercremesuppe... aber irgendwie nicht so wie im Murano...

Lobster bisque but not like in Murano's.

It was a different assistent waiter who was serving here... oops... Norovirus???

Es ist nicht die Hilfskellnerin von gestern, die hier bedient... oh weia... Norovirus???

Heute abend stehen wir aber auch nicht unter Zeitdruck.

Tonight we had no time pressure.

So we could totally enjoyed relax our dinner.

Daher können wir heute Abend es auch anders genießen.

Der Käsekuchen liegt auch immer als kleines Häppchen für Zwischendurch im Café al Bacio aus.

The cheese cake you can always get as little bites for in between in the Café al Bacio.

My green apple shorbet was just great... A little sourly like a shorbet should be.

Mein Grüner Apfel-Sorbet ist einfach klasse... Leicht säuerlich, wie ein Sorbet sein soll...

Nur die Liebe zum Detail fehlt... so fällt es auch nicht weiter auf, dass gar keine kleine Löffeln gedeckt wurden... Was soll's - wir sind ja alles eine große Familie hier... da wird auch der Suppenlöffel für den Kaffee benutzt, damit die Hausfrau weniger Arbeit hat...

Only the love for details were missing... so nobody saw that we did not get any tea spoons... Who cared - we were a big family here... so we used the tablespoon for the coffee so the housewife had less work...

Vor der Fahrt bekommen wir am Bus etwas Wasser. Die Fahrt soll zehn Minuten dauern. Leider kommen noch sieben Minuten hinzu weil drei Gäste zu spät am Bus erscheinen. Wir fahren und fahren und das schon länger als zehn Minuten und plötzlich wendet der Bus...

Before we continued we got some water. The ride should be ten minutes. But unfortunately we had to add seven minutes because three guests were late. We rode and rode and more than ten minutes and then the bus made a u-turn.

When he met another bus of the same company...

Als er dann einen weiteren Bus der gleichen Gesellschaft trifft,...

wendet er schon wieder und fährt in die Richtung weiter, dem anderen Bus hinterher und in die Richtung, in die er schon vorher gefahren ist. Die Tour wird doch alle 21 Tage angeboten. Wieso kennen die Jungs den Weg nicht???

Meanwhile it was 02.10 pm and we had not arrived yet. Originally we should leave at 03.00 pm back for the ferry. What kind of beach-break incl. lunch was this???

Mitlerweile ist es 14.10 Uhr und wir sind noch nicht da. Ursprünglich hieß es, dass wir um 15.00 Uhr wieder zur Fähre zurückfahren. Was für ein Beach-Break inkl. Lunch ist das???

Wir sind endlich da: Aki'in Beach Tulum.

To make it possible that we can enjoy a little the beautiful sandy beach our departure was rescheduled to 03.30 pm.

Damit wir diesen schönen Sandstrand doch etwas genießen können, wird die Abfahrt auf 15.30 Uhr verschoben.

Eigentlich ist das eine Schande. Leider können wir den Strand nicht genießen. Bevor wir gepackt haben, habe ich extra am Ausflugsbüro nachgefragt: Nein... sie brauchen nur Ihre Badesachen mitzunehmen... Badetücher werden gestellt und Umkleidekabinen sind vorhanden. Von wegen... die Reiseleitung wusste nichts davon und meint, dass es keine Badetücher gibt.

It was a shame. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the beach. Before we packed we called the shore excursion desk: No... you only need to take your swim suits with you... Towels will be provided and changing rooms are available. But this was a lie... die tour guide did not know anything about it and let us know that no towels will be provided.

And the changing rooms... who like public viewing...

Und die Umkleidekabinen... wer es öffentlich mag...

Echte Umkleidekabinen mit Kleiderhaken und einer Sitzgelegenheit gibt es hier nicht. Duschen und WC ja...

True changing rooms with hooks and a seat were not available. Showers and toilets: yes...

The buffet was nice but not very rich.

Das Buffet war lecker, aber nicht besonders reichhaltig.

Nichts, was ich auch in Boston oder Darmstadt bekommen könnte.

Nothing special you cannot get in Boston or Darmstadt, Germany as well.

The tortilla were so uniform shaped that it was clear that they were not handmade.

Die Tortilla sind so gleichmäßig, dass klar ist, dass es sich hier um Convenience Ware handelt.

Ein Softdrink ist kostenlos. Alkohol gibt es zu den Preisen.

One soft drink was free. Alcohol was available to buy.

Massage on the beach was very fine: one dollar per minute. One German tourist mixed up something: he wanted to have some pictures and booked a 5-minute-treatment. The therapist asked another client who booked her already if she would accept a 5-minute-break. After his five minutes he wanted more and treated her like a prostitute. The other male travel-mates were screaming and celebrated the (doubtful) hero and took pictures. The request of the therapist to clear the bank was not attended by him. The group leader had no success either. I hate such habit.

Die Massage am Strand war eine feine Sache: pro Minute ein Dollar. Ein deutscher Tourist verwechselt hier jedoch etwas: er will unbedingt fotografiert werden und bucht eine 5-Minuten-Massage. Die Therapeutin fragt eine andere Kundin, die sich bereits angemeldet hat, ob sie vielleicht 5-Minuten warten würde. Nach fünf Minuten will er mehr und behandelt sie wie eine Prostituierte. Unter dem Gegröhle der mitreisenden Männern lässt er sich als (zweifelhaften) Helden feiern und fotografieren. Den Wunsch der Therapeutin, dass er die Bank freigeben soll, folgt er nicht. Auch die Reiseleitung hat keinen Erfolg. So etwas kotzt mich an.

Hier hätten wir länger bleiben sollen.

Richard erleben wir nie ohne Kamera... (das muss ausgerechnet ich schreiben... ha ha ha...)

Wenigstens mal das Wasser berühren, wenn wir schon keine Badetücher dabei haben, um uns abzutrockenen.

Katie freut sich auch und hält ihre Füße ins Wasser.

The crab was fed up to the back teeth when so many photographers came and returned to the sea.

Der Krebs hat die Schnauze voll, als ihn er von den ganzen Fotografen umzingelt wird und zieht sich ins Meer zurück.

Durch den anderen Touristen wurde meine Zeit stark verkürzt. Ich bitte Guadaloupe aus Argentinien mich im Sitzen zu massieren, damit ich auf das Meer schauen kann. Sie fragt warum und ich sage ihr, dass sie täglich das wunderschöne Meer sieht und ich nur leider heute es sehen kann und daher ich nicht liegen möchte. Ich hatte zuvor schon daneben gestanden und das Kharma absorbiert, das sie bei der anderen Kundin ausgestrahlt hat. Es tat genauso gut, wie die Massage an sich. Wer immer den Ausflug bucht: bevor es ans Büffet geht: unbedingt Therapie-Zeit bei Guadaloupe sichern...

Due to the other tourist my time was extremely short. So I asked Guadalouope from Argentina to let me have the massage while I was sitting so I could see the sea. She asked why and I explained that she can the wonderful sea every day but me just today and therefore I did not want to lie with my face down. I standed all the time next to her and absorbed already her Kharma she was radiating with the other customer. It was as good as the massage itself. Who ever booked this shore excursion: before you see the buffet make sure to book an appointment with Guadaloupe...

At 04.30 pm we should depart from Playa del Carmen... could be a little tight.

Um 16.30 Uhr sollen wir in Playa del Carmen abfahren... das dürfte etwas knapp werden...

Wir parken etwas weiter weg und werden durch den Ort gejagt. Dem Fahrer gebe ich ein Trinkgeld. Das Trinkgeld des Führers behalte ich ein... So stelle ich sicher, dass wir noch einer Apotheke ein Mittel gegen Seekrankheit kaufen können. Danach hat er sich sein Trinkgeld auch verdient.

We arrived and were driven like cattle through the village. I tipped the driver and kept the tip for our tour guide... So I made sure that he will stop at a pharmacy to buy some pills agains motion sickness. After that he deserved his tip.

Wir kommen an und werden weiter getrieben. Auf langsamere Gäste wird keine Rücksicht genommen.

Ein Dollar-Automat... hätte ich das vorher gewusst, dann hätte ich mir die 6 USD auf dem Schiff sparen können.

An USD-ATM... Should I had known it earlier I would not spend the 6 USD on the ship.

Katie invited all others with a round of pills agains motion sickness. A lot of our cruise-mates appreciated. One thing Celebrity should have taken care of if they use a fast ferry.

Katie schmeißt eine Runde mit Tabletten gegen Seekrankheit. Viele nehmen das dankbar an. Eigentlich eine Sache, um die sich hätte Celebrity kümmern müssen, wenn die eine Schnellfähre nutzen...

und auch auf der Rückfahrt werden Tüten verteilt. In den letzten Reihen liegen schon ein paar Halbleichen...

On the return journey bags were handed over too. In the last rows there were some half-died bodies...

The high-speed-ferry had also something good: I could transfer my pictures by WiFi free of charge... subject you were close enough to a port...

Die Schnellfähre hat auch was positives: ich kann mit dem kostenlosen WLAN Bilder übertragen... sofern wir in Hafennähe sind...

17.40 Uhr kommen wir in Cozumel an. Um 17.45 Uhr sollen wir an Bord sein.

Ich lasse mal alle anderen vorgehen. Alle anderen Schiffe sind leider schon weg.

I let all others going first. All other ships left already.

I was upset because we were back so late. But we were not the last group arriving at the ferry terminal.

Mich ärgert es, dass wir erst so spät zurück sind. Aber wir waren nicht die letzte Gruppe, die am Fährterminal eintraf.

Oben auf der Brücke wird schon alles für das Auslaufen vorbereitet. Mit einem Schub aus dem Horn jagt man mich in das Schiff.

On the bridge they were preparing everything for the sailing. With a blow out of the horn they get me quickly to the ship.

When I came the second gangway was already stowed away.

Als ich komme ist eine der zwei Brücken bereits eingezogen.

Wir sollen endlich an Bord.

None was behind me on the pier.

Nach mir ist keiner mehr am Pier.

Offiziell bin ich der letzte Gast wieder an Bord. Bruno sagt, dass schon die Wache angerufen hätte...

Officially I was the last guest on board. Bruno told that the security already called....

Celebrity was unlucky because we went already to Tulum with Carnival when we called Calica. Therefore we were able to compare. Here our guide explained us how the Mayan language worked and not just as much to order something in the jewelry store... He had a folder with him.

Celebrity hatte ausgerechnet Pech, dass wir schon mit Carnival in Tulum waren, als wir in Calica angelegt haben. Daher haben wir Vergleichsmöglichkeiten. Hier hat uns der Führer mal an dieser Tafel erklärt, wie die Mayanische Sprache aufgebaut ist und nicht nur um Namensanhänger zu bestellen... Er führt auch eine Mappe mit.

In dieser Mappe waren Zeichnungen von den Erscheinung während der Sonnenwende usw., so dass wir uns am jeweiligen Ort ein Bild davon machen konnten, wie es dann ausgesehen haben müsste. Wir haben den Führer um die tollen Zeichnungen beneidet. Er hat noch versucht uns Replikate in Tulum zu beschaffen, leider ohne Erfolg. Unser Celebrity-Führer hatte nur sich selbst mit...

In this folder there were drawings of the appearances around solstice so we could picture it how it was at each single spot. We envied our guide because of the great paintings. He tried to get us some replicats in Tulum but without success. Our Celebrity-guide had only himself with him...

We came in the afternoon. It was not as full and warmer. Our guide took the time to stop at the wall we need to pass and allured the iguanas by feeding them with blossoms.

Wir kamen nachmittags. Da war es nicht so voll und wärmer. Unser Führer hat mal an der Mauer, durch die wir laufen musste einen Halt gemacht und mit Blüten Leguane angelockt, um sie zu füttern.

Dann hat er für uns Blüten gepflückt, damit wir sie selbst füttern konnten.

In total it was much more calmer that the iguanas ran on the grass. One corner of Tulum we had not seen so far and again this time we had no chance to see. Next time again with Carnival and as afternoon excursion from Calica: it was shorter and better...

Insgesamt war es ruhiger, so dass auch die Leguane auf dem Rasen rumliefen. Eine Ecke von Tulum haben wir damals nicht gesehen und dieses Mal wieder nicht. Das nächste Mal wieder mit Carnival und dann wieder als Nachmittagsausflug von Calica aus: war kürzer und besser...

Hier hat sich doch einiges getan, seit dem wir vor zwei Jahren da waren... Sieht alles zivilisierter aus.

Something has changed for the last two years since we were here... Looked more civilized...

We were pushed in transit through Lapis jewelry Center. I thought, that was not here two years ago. Supposed to the be last toilets in whole Mexico... let's say before your reach the Sites of Tulum.

Wir werden alle bei Lapis jewelry Center durchgeschleust. Das war vor zwei Jahren wohl noch nicht da, glaube ich. Angeblich die letzten Toiletten in ganz Mexiko... zumindest vor den archäologischen Stätten von Tulum...

So viele Busse hatte wir vor Jahren gar nicht in Erinnerung.

We did not have so many buses in our memories.

Inside nice and cool.

Drinnen ganz nett und kühl.

Hier wird uns Mayanisch erklärt und dass wir hier Namensanhänger bestellen können. Allerdings geht das von unserer Besichtungszeit ab, da man dann 20 Minuten früher wieder zurück sein muss, um die Aufträge zu platzieren.

Here we were informed how Mayan language works as far as we wanted to order a named pendant. But we would loose 20 minutes from our time for the visit as they need it to make the pendant.

The toilets were clean. On the flush did not work properly. Very nice was the complementary beverage dispenser... In hot countries it is extremely important to get back in your body what you lost.

Die Toiletten sind sauber. Nur die Spülung funktionieren nicht so richtig. Ganz praktisch sind die kostenlosen Getränkespender... In heißen Ländern ist es wichtig, dass man das was man ausgeschieden hat, wieder zu sich nimmt...

Aha... wir sollen direkt zur Kasse...

Ahh... we should proceed directly to the cashier.

For those who were too lazy to walk there was a shuttle available for 4 USD. We used it the last time as it was a moddy piste after the rain. Meanwhile the road was tared and it was dry anyway. So we walked.

Für Lauffaule gibt es wieder die Bahn, die wohl 4 USD kostet. Wir haben sie das letzte Mal genutzt, weil es durch eine Schlammpiste nach Regen ging. Zwischenzeitlich wurde die Straße geteert und es ist trocken. Also laufen wir.

Übrigens: das ist eine klare Beschilderung: Busnummer und die Gesellschaft. Schließlich habe ich bei Celebrity gebucht und nicht bei der mir unbekannten Gesellschaft.

By the way: that was a clear signpost: bus number and the company. We booked with Celebrity and not with unknown company.

During the walking time from the toilets in the jewelry store and the cashier they must have erected some toilets there.

Während der wir von der Toilettenanlage beim Juwelier bis zum Kassenhäuschen laufen, sind wohl zwischenzeitlich öffentliche Toilettenanlagen an der Kasse gebaut worden...

Wir gehen aber eh vorbei, weil wir Sammeltickets haben.

We had pass anyway as we had a group ticket.

The way we were taken trough Tulum we call in German pig's gallop. We had no time to read any instructions.

Wir laufen im Schweinsgalopp durch. Nicht mal Zeit, um uns die Verhaltensregeln durchzulesen haben wir.

Das Schild haben wir noch von unserer letzten Führung in Erinnerung. Nur jetzt laufen wir daran vorbei.

We remembered this sign from our last visit. But now we just passed.

Through the wall we had to walk nonstop.

Durch die Mauer geht es nonstop.

Kurzerhand werden wir aufgestellt und alles von einem Punkt aus erklärt. Katie und Charlie verstehen leider nichts und gucken sich alleine um. Wir folgen ihnen wenige Minuten später.

Quickly we were positioned to get explaination from one single point. Katie and Charlie did not understand anything so they looked around by themselves. We followed them few minutes later.

We had luck with the weather.

Mit dem Wetter haben wir Glück.

Der Strand ist immer noch so schön, wie vor zwei Jahren.

The beach was still beautiful like two years ago.

Hier ließe es sich aushalten.

Die Schilder sind wohl neu.

Und um 13.30 Uhr müssen wir wieder am Bus sein.

At 01.30 pm we should be back at the bus.

Many were too lazy too walk and took the tractor bus.

Viele haben keine Lust zum Laufen und nehmen den Tranktorbus.

Und die Toilettenanlagen wurden zwischenzeitlich nicht wieder abgebaut... also keine Fata Morgana, sondern Realität...

And the toilets were not destroyed while we were inside... so no mirage but reality.

Here a chewing gum-tree was growing... (should be a rubber tree... someone who misused the internet... might have translated condom tree).

Hier wächst der Kaugummi-Baum...

Übrigens wenn ich das nächste Mal wieder nach Tulum fahre, bestelle ich mir einen deutschsprachigen Fremdenführer vor. Wenn es Celebrity gut mit uns gemeint hätte, dann hätten sie uns ja so etwas organisieren können. Für den Teil in Tulum hätte es vollkommen ausgereicht.

By the way: next time when we go to Tulum again I will order a German speaking tour guide. If Celebrity would really take care of their customers then they could order us a local German-speaking guide in Tulum.

Looked more like improvisation.

Bei uns sieht alles ein wenig improvisiert aus...

Um 09.15 Uhr wurden alle Ausflügler, die nach Playa del Carmen umgefahren werden mussten, ins Celebrity Central gebeten. Ist ja eine geniale Konstruktion, dass man beide Richtungen nutzen kann.

For 09.15 am all guests which need to be transferred to Playa del Carmen were requested to meet to Celebrity Central. What a great construction that you can use it to both directions.

You got against presentation of your tickets - and only against presentation of the tickets... your tour number stickers. That was no allocation to the buses.

Es gibt hier gegen Vorlage der Tickets - und nur gegen Vorlage der Tickets... die Tournummern. Es erfolgt noch keine Aufteilung auf Busse.

Leider hat Celebrity eine geniale Chance eines perfekten Kundenservices vertan: Statt der Anmerkung auf dem Ticket "Please note that inclement weather may cause seasickness on ferry. Please take necessary precautions." hätte man ja auch eine Krankenschwester hinstellen können, die während der Wartezeit darauf hinweist, dass es sich nicht um ein konventionelles Fährschiff handelt und empfindlichere Personen, die schon auf dem Kreuzfahrtschiff bei geringstem Seegang Schwierigkeiten haben, noch vor der Abfahrt mit einer Tablette zu versorgen. Und soll ich jetzt Jörg Kachelmann anrufen und nachfragen, ob wir nun eine Wetterlage haben, die sich auf die Fährüberfahrt auswirkt oder nicht???

Unfortunately Celebrity blew the unique chance to offer the most perfect customer service: Instead of the remark "Please note that inclement weather may cause seasickness on ferry. Please take necessary precautions." on the tickets they could have a nurse there who explained during the waiting time that this was not a conventionally ferry and more sensative persons who had already problems on the cruise ship with the most little movements should have one of the seamovement-pills. And should I call now the weather service and ask if we had inclement weather which might have consequences to the ferry service???

But was also well managed: who lost his ticket got immediately a replacement slip.

Andererseits, was gut war: wer sein Ticket verloren hat, bekommt sofort einen Ersatzbeleg ausgestellt.

Nein - es ist ja Mittwoch, der 13. - wird schon alles gut gehen.

No - it' Wedenesday the 13th - so it should be good.

Were these signposts from a private tour company??? According to the tickets the local operator should be International Travel Operator SA de CV. Not mentioned on the signpost and Celebrity either.

Sind das jetzt die Schilder von einem privaten Tourunternehmen? Lt. Ticket ist der lokale Veranstalter International Travel Operator SA de CV. Der steht nicht drauf und auch Celebrity steht auch nicht drauf.

Hier steht ja noch einer von Celebrity, der den Weg weist.

One from Celebrity was here to direct the way.

That was by the way the boats which they used for the ferry ride. Experts would know now what you should expect. And those of you who expected a conventional ferry will have a big surprise. By the way the boats of the competitors looked much more cared.

Das sind übrigens die Boote, die für die Fährüberfahrt eingesetzt werden. Experten unter euch wissen, was auf einen zukommt. Und diejenigen, die denken, dass sie auf eine konventionelle Fähre gehen werden ihr blaues Wunder erleben. Übrigens sehen die Boote der Konkurrenz weitaus besser gepflegt aus...

Der einzige Vorteil: das Boot legt direkt neben unserem Pier an. Deswegen lernen auch nicht mehr von Cozumel kennen als den Weg von unserem Pier zum Pier der Schnellfähre und wieder zurück kennen.

The only advantage: the boat was berthing next to us at the pier. That was why we did not see more from Cozumel but the way from our pier to the pier of the high speed ferry and vice versa.

Better than walking to the public terminal.

Besser als zum öffentlichen Terminal zu laufen.

Anscheinend ist moeve (Alexandra) und ihre Gruppe auch wieder mit von der Partie. Sie bilden eine eigene Gruppe mit deutschsprachigem Führer.

Obviously moeve (Alexandra) and her group were with us on the boat. She a had a private group with a German speaking guide.

You better sit in the rear and in the center. Was much closer to the toilets. The TV-show was for distraction reason.

In dem Boot sollte man sich möglichst weit nach hinten und in die Mitte setzen. Ist auch näher zur Toilette. Das Fernsehprogramm läuft um sich abzulenken. Der Getränkeverkauf ist geschlossen.

Sicherheitshalber bekommen wir Tüten ausgeteilt - für den Notfall.

After 45 minutes we arrived at Playa del Carmen.

Nach 45 Minuten sind wir in Playa del Carmen.

Sieht ja ganz nett aus, mit dem Strand neben dem Passagier Terminal.

None from Celebrity to see.

Weit und breit ist keiner von Celebrity zu sehen.

Da moeve (Alexandra) ja nicht in der gleichen Gruppe ist, wie wir, macht es keinen Sinn ihr zu folgen.

As moeve (Alexandra)'s group were not with our it did not make too much sense to follow them.

After we were reading all signs from private tour operators we finally found at the end of the street our group. Again no signpost for Celebrity of International Travel Operator SA de CV.

Nach dem wir so sämtliche Schilder von privaten Touranbietern durchgelesen haben, haben wir am Ende der Straße endlich wohl die Gruppen gefunden. Aber es befindet sich weder ein Hinweis auf Celebrity noch auf International Travel Operator SA de CV.

Wird schon richtig sein. Erst hier wird die Gruppe auf zwei Busse aufgeteilt.

Wer ist wieder Aiomar???

Hier gibt es einen Informationsstand - muss man sich merken, falls man mal etwas privates bucht.

For the next time we just remember that there was an information booth to book something more private.

In our bus we found out that there were a lot of German speaking guests. I guess the situation in the other bus might be the same: why could not Celebrity offer a public German group??? We could indicate in the internet that we preferred German but accepted English. On the TV-screen and in the printed lists there was no option to ask for a foreign language operated tour.

Im Bus stellen wir fest, dass eine hohe Anzahl von deutschen Gästen dabei sind. Wahrscheinlich ist die Situation im anderen Bus ähnlich: warum kann Celebrity dann nicht eine deutsche öffentliche Gruppe anbieten. Wir haben es im Internet angeben können, dass wir Deutsch vorziehen und Englisch akzeptieren. Über das Kabinenprogramm und bei der persönlichen Anmeldung konnte man keine Sprachpräferenzen angeben.

Die Lunchpakete für die anderen Gruppen werden in Wäschebehältern zu den Bussen transportiert. Hoffentlich sind es bloß Sachen, die ungekühlt halten...

The lunch boxes for the other groups were transported in the laundry containers to the buses. I hoped that there were only food items inside which did not need any refrigerator...

Opposite is the airport for all who refused to return on the high-speed-ferry. Should be 600 USD incl. VIP-service to your ship...That was plan B of the private tour company which I contacted but on our expense.

Drüben ist der Flughafen für diejenigen, die sich weigern wieder mit der Schnellfähre zurückzufahren. Der Spaß soll 600 USD kosten... dafür ist VIP-Service bis zum Schiff inklusive... Das war übrigens Plan B des privaten Tourunternehmens, das ich kontaktiert habe. Allerdings auf unsere Kosten.

Hier bekommen wir eine weitere Nummer zugeteilt, damit man die zwei Busgruppen auseinander halten kann.

Here you get one more number to see the different groups in the different buses.

The buses were very comfortable and well air-conditioned. Who disliked it very breezy should stay in the front.

Die Busse sind sehr bequem und hinten gut klimatisiert. Wer es nicht so zugig mag, bleibt am besten vorne.

Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es an einem Seetag hier ziemlich voll ist. Die Umkleidekabinen und die Saunen befinden sich außerhalb.

I could imagine it should be quite busy here on days on sea. Changing rooms and saunas were outside.

So I liked the spa area on NORWEGIAN GEM more.

Schade: da liegt die NORWEGIAN GEM doch vorne mit ihrem Spa-Bereich...

Ich will endlich an Land... vor uns liegt Cozumel.

I wanted to go ashore... there was Cozumel.

No - this should be the day of the ships which I did not have in good memories. Could not it be the ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS which I had no photos of. But it came like it came: NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS...

Nein - das ist wohl der Tag der Schiffe, die wir nicht so in guter Erinnerung haben. Hätte es nicht die ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS sein können, die ich noch nicht vor der Kamera hatte... nein - es ist wie es kommen musste: NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS...

Vielleicht ist es ja auch ein Zeichen, dass ich es nochmals versuchen soll, aber so blöd, wie RCI Miami reagiert hat, die nächste Zeit sicherlich nicht.

Maybe it was again a sign that I should try it again but due to RCI Miami's reaction definately not so soon.

As I was a shipspotter I took so many pictures of her.

Als Shipspotter wird natürlich trotzdem fotografiert.

Wieso kann sie nicht dort liegen, wo die CARNIVAL LEGEND liegt und die CARNIVAL LEGEND, wo wir anlegen sollen. Das wäre perfekt gewesen.

Why cannot she be at the berth where CARNIVAL LEGEND was and CARNIVAL LEGEND here... That would have been totally perfect for me.

There were requests how to use the ATM onboard. Therefore you do not find a translation for this part. Just for the German reading fans as there are no instructions in German on the ATM.

Es gab eine E-Mail-Anfrage wegen der Geldautomaten. Ja - die normale maestro-Karte (ehemals EC-Karte) wird angenommen. Die Bedienung erfolgt aber nicht wie in Deutschland. Karte reinstecken und gleich wieder rausziehen.

Leider gibt es keine deutsche Menüführung. Daher auf Englisch.

Geheimzahl eingeben und mit "ENTER" (in grün) bestätigen.

Wenn du nur 60 USD willst: einfach Fast Cash drücken - aber da es bestimmt bei deiner Bank eine Fixgebühr gibt, wird es sich vielleicht nicht rechnen: ansonsten WITHDRAWAL drücken.

An diesem Pier nebenan legen wohl auch ein paar Ausflugsboote ab, die die Passagiere von den Kreuzfahrtschiffen aufnehmen.

Willkommen in einer anderen Welt. Nichts ist mehr so, wie es zuvor war.

Welcome to another world. Nothing was anymore like before.

We were curious how the life in the Oceanview Café would be. Withouth having our hands sanitized we did not get any admission. There were no more plates which you take yourself.

Die Neugier zieht uns ins Oceanview Café. Ohne, dass wir unsere Hände desinfiziert haben, kommen wir nicht rein. Die Teller gibt es nicht mehr zum selber entnehmen.

Alle Stationen sind mit mehr Personen als sonst besetzt.

All stations were occupied with more persons like normal.

They still offered to prepare freshly your favorite omelette. But you were not allowed anymore to grab your own preferred sides.

Nach wie vor, kann man sich seine Lieblingsomelettes backen lassen. Nur dass man sich nicht selbst mehr die Beilagen schon zwischenzeitlich suchen darf, um diese schon mal draufzulegen.

Hier oben gibt es auch Quiche und Frittata zum Frühstück.

Plates and silverware were available at the release stations.

Teller und Besteck gibt es direkt an den Ausgabestationen.

Hier sehe ich, dass es auch eine englische Frühstücksstation mit englischen Frühstückswürstchen gibt, die es im Restaurant nicht gibt.

Here I saw you get here also English breakfast items with English Wiltshire sausages which you do not get in the main dining room.

For a passionate meat-lover, who better should be a vegetarian, it was the true land of milk and honey.

Für einen passionierten Nicht-Vegetarier, der besser einer sein sollte, ist das hier das reine Schlaraffenland.

Eine tolle Brotauswahl, die sicherlich auch dem deutschen Geschmack entgegen kommt.

A great selection of bread which should also meet the German taste.

Beverages were release here by glass or cups.

Getränke werden tassen- bzw. glasweise hier ausgegeben.

Diese Dame ist uneinsichtig. Sie bedient sich selbst und nimmt ihr Brot mit bloßer Hand, weil die Zangen ja nach innen ausliegen. Ich spreche sie darauf an, dass wir den Norovirus an Bord haben. Sie weiss es und bedient sich selbst weiter. Als die Mitarbeiterin sie auch darauf hinweist, dass keine Selbstbedienung mehr ist, faucht sie, dass sie Hunger hätte und keine Lust hätte zu warten. Solche uneinsichtigen Passagiere sollte man kurzerhand mit einem Rettungsboot aussetzen.

This lady had no intelligence. She helped herself and took the bread with her bare hand because the tongs were showing to the inside of the stations. I told that we had the norovirus on board. She said that she knew it and continued to help herself. When a crew member asked her to stop to help herself she just answered that she was hungry and was not willing to wait. Such persons should be released from the ship on a rescue boat.

The weather looked very promising.

Das Wetter ist schon vielversprechend.

Bald ist auch schon Land in Sicht.

Soon we had land on sight.

If there were so many cruise ships around a port Cozumel could not be far away.

Wenn viele Kreuzfahrtschiffe sich vor einem Hafen tummeln, kann es nicht mehr weit bis nach Cozumel sein.

Die Schnellfähren kommen uns schon entgegen.

The high-speed-ferriy came against us.

Ah... that was Cozumel.

Aha... das ist also Cozumel.

Verwechslungsgefahr mit Roatan definitiv ausgeschlossen.

No chance to mix-up with Roatan.

Next to the cruise terminals the sunbeds were just waiting for the the cruise ship's guests.

Direkt neben dem Cruise Terminal warten die Sonnenliegen schon auf die Abnehmer von den Kreuzfahrtschiffen.

Endlich: Willkommen in Cozumel.

Finally: welcome to Cozumel.

One Celebrity-ship berthed far away. Watching the direction of the ferry it looked like that she berthed at the mainland.

Ein Celebrity-Schiff liegt weiter weg. Und der Fähre nach zu urteilen liegt sie wohl am Festland an.

Hinterher sehen wir, dass es unsere allzu "geliebte" CELEBRITY CENTURY ist.

Later we saw her: our "beloved" CELEBRITY CENTURY.

She got a good position that I could take a good shot.

Sie positioniert sich für mich, damit ich sie schön treffe.

Sogar mit einem Regenbogen am Heck. Das ist bestimmt ein Zeichen, dass wir ihr nochmals eine Chance geben sollen. Ohne Muffin- und Kaffeeproben und die Garantie, dass die Klimaanlage vernünftig läuft, weigert sich Bruno jedoch nochmals an eine Fahrt mit der CELEBRITY CENTURY zu denken.

Even with a rainbow at the stern. That was a sign that we should give her another chance. But without free tasting of muffin and coffee and the garantee that would working properly Bruno was not willing to try her again.

Somehow I had the snails on CELEBRITY CENTURY in better memories...

Irgendwie habe ich die Schnecken auf der CELEBRITY CENTURY noch in besserer Erinnerung...

Irgendwie vermisse ich auch diesen Salat, obwohl ich normalerweise Eisbergsalat gar nicht mag...

Somehow I missed the salad although I normally dislike lettuce.

And I missed the presentation of the desserts like we experienced on CELEBRITY CENTURY. According to ellbon (Robin from cruisecritic.com), who was there recently they still offered the service. I could save the work in translation as the dessert menus were not available in German. One picture says more than thousand words.

Und ich vermisse die Präsentation der Desserts, wie wir sie auf der CELEBRITY CENTURY kennengelernt haben. Lt. ellbon (Robin aus cruisecritic.com), die vor kurzem noch auf der CELEBRITY CENTURY war, soll es diesen Service noch geben. Mir hätte es die Übersetzungsarbeit gespart, weil ja die Dessertkarten angeblich nicht in Deutsch verfügbar waren. Denn ein Bild sagt ja bekanntlich mehr als tausend Worte.

Vor uns fährt ein RCI-Schiff...

In front of us there was an RCI-ship.

That was great: CROWN PRINCESS which I could not get a good shot the day before on Roatan.

Das ist gut: die CROWN PRINCESS ist hier, die ich ja gestern auf Roatan nicht so gut vor die Kamera bekommen habe.

Und die CARNIVAL LEGEND. Mal gucken, ob wir später Zeit haben, uns eine schöne Fotostelle zu suchen.

Später fiel mir auf, dass ich sie ja schon mal sehr schön in Brooklyn vor die Linse bekommen habe.

Und bei der CARNIVAL LEGEND hatte ich leider Pech, dass sie sich später hinter die CROWN PRINCESS versteckt hat.

Immer schön am Schornstein zu erkennen, dass es sich um Carnival handelt.

An einem anderen Cruise Terminal liegt AIDAvita (Irrtümlich habe ich das Schiff falsch indentifiziert, aber dank aufmerksamer Mitleser... siehe Kommentare).

At another cruise terminal there was AIDAvita (by mistake I did not itendified the ship properly but thanks to the attention of the readers... see comments).

Good to know that there were several cruise terminals in case that you book again a private tour with other cruisers on other ships.

Schon mal gut zu wissen, dass es auch hier mehrere Cruise Terminals gibt, falls man sich wieder mit anderen Cruisern auf anderen Schiffen auf einen gemeinsamen Ausflug einigt.

Abends sehen wir sie nochmals und anscheinend hat sich noch ein Carnival-Schiff hinzugesellt.

Gegen 17.30 Uhr meldet sich der Kapitän auch über die Kabinenlautsprecher: Der Norovirus ist an Bord. Leider gibt es die Ansage nur in Englisch. Auch gibt es keine schriftlichen Informationen und Verhaltensinstruktionen in anderen Sprachen. Wir machen uns für die zweite formelle Nacht fertig.

Around 05.30 pm the Captain came into our stateroom through the cabin loudspeakers. The norovirs was onboard. But the announce came only in English. No written information and instructions in other languages. We completed our preperations for the second formal night.

Katie and Charlie wanted to have a nice picture of themselves.

Katie und Charlie wollen sich doch mal schön fotografieren lassen.

Alle sieben Studios, die aufgebaut wurden, suchen wir nicht auf.

There were seven foto studios around the ship but we did not see them all.

They used alread face masks when they sanitzed.

Es wird bereits mit Atemmasken gearbeitet, wenn desinfiziert wird.

Ich kaufe mir eine CD von Justin Wade und lasse sie mir signieren. In der Bar gibt es keine Getränkekarten mehr. Es gibt auch keine Knabbereien mehr.

I bought a CD from Justin Wade and let him signed it for me. At the bars there were no bar menus anymore. And there were no snacks anymore available.

Wine seemed to be more harmless: A wine menu in the restaurant was obviously no larger risk.

Wein ist anscheinend harmloser: Eine Weinkarte im Restaurant stellt anscheinend keine große Gefahr dar.

Es gibt keine Butter, Hummus oder Pesto mehr am Tisch - kein Brotkorb - kein Salz und Pfeffer.

There was no butter, hummus or pesto on the table - no bread basked - no salt and pepper.

The butter were served piece by piece.

Die Butter wird einzeln gereicht.

Speisekarten gibt es trotzdem. Ich hätte jetzt angenommen, dass vielleicht eine Tafel vorbereitet wurde, auf der das Menü steht.

Menus were available. I guessed they would have a big black board where you can read the menu.

The bread was also served piece by piece.

Auch das Brot wird einzeln gereicht.

Es gibt eine kurze Parade der Köche und sonstigen Offiziere und Maîtres. Viele Kellner sind jedoch nicht daran beteiligt, so dass der Service eigentlich weiterläuft.

There was a short parade of the cooks and other officers and maîtres. Many waiters were working and continuing the service so there were not so marching in the parade.

We rescheduled our reservation 30 minutes ahead because we wanted to be in the show. But we got our first course after 35 minutes.

Wir haben die Reservierung um 30 MInuten vorgezogen, weil wir die Show sehen wollen. Nur erst nach 35 Minuten bekommen wir den 1. Gang.

Der Service läuft schleppend, weil die Kellner zusätzlich nochmals mit Salz und Pfeffer kommen. Nur da sie immer beim Auftragen fragen, ob man Salz und Pfeffer will, schicke ich sie weg, weil ich nicht prinzipiell Salz und Pfeffer brauche, sondern, wenn es ungewürzt ist. Ich sage ihm mehrmals, dass ich es erst probieren müsste, bevor ich ihm sagen kann, ob ich Salz oder Pfeffer brauche.

The service was slowed down because the waiter need to serve additional salt and pepper. I sent them away when they serve and asked immediately if I want some salt and pepper. It was not always that I need salt and pepper - only if it was not spiced. I told them frequent times that I need to taste it before I could tell him if I need salt or pepper.

The tartare was great. There was only one problem: no more bread at the table and I did not continue before I finally had more bread.

Das Tartar ist klasse. Nur ein Problem: es gibt kein Brot mehr am Tisch, so dass ich erst weiter anfangen kann, als ich endlich Brot bekomme.

Endlich kommt es.

Finally it came.

The cilled mint-soup was not Bruno's world.

Bruno konnte mit der kalten Minzsuppe nichts anfangen.

So bestellt er sich auch eine Hühnercremesuppe,...

While I was taking lobster again although I had him last night. Did not look so healty anymore...or??? Katie's lobster was not prepared for an easy take-out-of-the-shell so I asked someone from waiters to do before she splashed herself. For the show it was too late again although we came 30 minutes earlier. The last straw was when all tables which came later got their first course after ten minutes and it went much more faster. Before we could escelate the situation our waiter did the only right thing: he asked his maître to come and to find a solution.

während ich den Hummer wieder nehme, obwohl ich ihn gestern Abend erst hatte. So gesund sieht er aber nicht aus... oder??? Katies Hummer ist nicht ausgelöst und so bitte ich jemanden von den Kellnern, dass er das übernehmen möge, bevor sie uns alle vollspritzt. Für die Show sind wir wieder zu spät, obwohl wir bereits 30 Minuten früher gekommen sind. Der Kragen platzt mir allerdings erst dann, als Tische, die nach uns kommen bereits nach 10 Minuten ihren 1. Gang haben und dass es dort alles zügiger geht. Bevor es zur Eskalation kommt, macht unser Kellner das einzig richtige: er bittet einen Maître zu uns um eine Lösung zu finden.

Die Lösung, die wir finden ist ganz einfach: so wie wir es schon mal im Todd English zuletzt auf der QUEEN MARY 2 praktiziert haben. Wir gehen zur Show und kommen danach wieder um unser Dessert und unseren Kaffee zu uns zu nehmen. Die Nachbarn gucken ein wenig komisch, weil wir nur das Dessert nehmen. Der Maître hat unseren Tisch nicht nochmals weiter gegeben und neu eindecken lassen. So konnten wir jederzeit wieder kommen. SELECT DINING in Perfektion.

The solution we found was very simple as we did the same already in Todd English on QUEEN MARY 2: We went to the show and return after the show to have our dessert and coffee. The next table was surprised because we only had the dessert and nothing else. The maître arranged that the table was kept for us with fresh silverware and napkins. So we could return at any time. SELECT DINING in perfection.

There were also fine chocolate available for the coffee. But we did not want the Baked Alaska (without fireworks).

Neben des Desserts gibt es auch Pralinen zum Kaffee. Aber den angebotene Baked Alaska (ohne Feuerwerk) wollen wir nicht.

Die Show heißt Remix.

Den Ausdruck verbinde ich mit CD-Fehlkäufen und Überraschungen.

I associated with this expression some mispurchases of CDs and some surprises.

Remixes are variations of an original piece of music.

Remixes sind Abwandlungen des Original-Titels.

Und in der Tat findet es auf der Bühne genauso statt: vieles, was man mit dem Original verbindet...

Indeed: on stage it happened exactly what I was thinking of: a lot which I associated with the original.

and some variations which you could like equally, worse or better....

Und ein paar Variationen, die man nun entweder genauso gut leiden kann, besser oder schlechter...

Insgesamt aber eine sehr gute Show, die mir Spaß gemacht hat. Danach geht es zurück zum Dessert ins Silhouette-Restaurant.

In total it was a great show where I had a lot of fun. Thereafter we went back to the Silhouette-Restaurant to have our dessert.

Seit dem es das neue Carnival-Terminal am Mahegony Bay gibt, kann man Shipspotter auf der Welt zur Verzweiflung bringen: die CROWN PRINCESS kommt, aber leider auch nicht zu uns.

Since there was the new Carnival terminal at Mahegony Bay me as shispotter might become mad: CROWN PRINCESS came but not to us.

From the observation point there was not much too see from Mahegony Bay Cruise Center. Francisco did not know any point similiar to this point to get pictures of the ships at Mahegony Bay.

Von dem Aussichtspunkt sieht man leider auch nicht viel vom Mahegony Bay Cruise Center. Francisco kennt leider keinen vergleichbaren Aussichtspunkt, um die Schiffe am Mahegony Bay zu fotografieren.

Auch vom Schiff aus, bekommen wir es nicht besser hin und leider fahren wir bei der Ausfahrt nicht bei denen vorbei. Wie schade.

From the ship there was no chance either and unfortunately we did not pass them at their terminal. How bad.

But we were able to take pictures of the our ships at our cruise terminals: C. COLUMBUS, NORWEGIAN JEWEL and of course MY CELEBRITY EQUINOX.

Dafür können wir aber wunderbar die Schiffe an unserem Cruise Terminal fotografieren: C. COLUMBUS, NORWEGIAN JEWEL und natürlich MEINE CELEBRITY EQUINOX.

Solche Punkte müsste man überall auf der Welt haben.

You need such points everywhere on the world.

What a shame that there was no sunshine. Would shine perfectly on our ship.

Schade, dass nicht die Sonne raus ist. Sie würde jetzt perfekt direkt auf das Schiff scheinen.

Falls ihr auch bei Regen hier raufgeführt werdet: Gummistiefel wären nicht schlecht...

For the worst case that you need to get here while it is raining. Do not forget your Wellington boots....

We wanted to place all the staff back to the ship. It was clear that paiagirl (Frances from cruisecritic.com) will get us so many things although we always asked not to do. They had also something for Katie and Charlie. But this time we were well prepared. They went to their ship to have a quick bite. We had a quick bite in the Aqua Spa Café. The chilled melon-soup was very refreshing and yummy.

Wir wollen zunächst mal unser Zeug loswerden: Es war klar, dass paiagirl (Frances aus cruisecritic.com) wieder jede Menge mitbringt, obwohl wir es verboten haben. Auch für Katie und Charlie hatte sie was mit. Wir waren aber dieses Mal auch sehr gut vorbereitet. So gehen sie kurz zu sich an Bord und wir zu uns, um eine Kleinigkeit zu essen. Wir gehen schnell ins Aqua Spa Café. Die kalte Melonen-Ingwer-Suppe ist richtig erfrischend lecker.

I ordered with the waitr an piece of grilled chicken. You can also have salmon, tuna or pork from the grill on request. After the meal we met again with Frances and Eddie on the pier. We could not find a nice coffee store with an internet-access.

Ich habe mir beim Kellner ein Stück gegrillte Hähnchenbrust bestellt. Es gibt auch Lachs, Thunfisch und Schwein vom Grill auf Bestellung. Nach dem Essen treffen wir uns nochmals mit Frances und Eddie auf dem Pier. Ein nettes Café mit Internet-Anschluss gibt es leider nicht.

Na ja... bei einer 7-Nächte-Fahrt bekommt man bestimmt alle Sachen nur einmal.

Hmm... with a 7-nigher you get everything once I guessed.

They really wanted us leaving and get us already a customs form (very surprising in German), but only one and not two, as we are no family. And the questionaire came.

Die wollen uns tatsächlich loswerden und bringen uns ein Zollformular (sogar in Deutsch), aber nur eines statt zwei, da wir keine Familie sind. Und der Gästefragebogen kommt schon.

Wir füllen den Bogen aus. Für die Gepäckanhänger haben wir bereits alle Informationen als Etikett in Deutschland vorbereitet. So müssen wir die Dinger nicht alle einzeln ausfüllen. Nummer 36 steht für 09.50 Uhr.

We completed the form. For the baggage tags we prepared all information as an additional tag already in Germany. So we did not need to fill out all the single baggage tags. Number 36 standed for 09.50 hrs.

With the service in the main dining room we can only tick all options because we experience all options.

Beim Service im Hauptrestaurant können wir eigentlich nur alle Felder markieren, weil wir alles erlebt haben.

Die Gästeinformation ist eine Katastrophe, weil man immer die deutschen und die englischen Programme lesen muss, um ein vollständiges Bild zu erhalten. Manche Beilagen sind auch nur in der englischen Ausgabe enthalten.

The guest information were chaotic because you need to read German and English to a complete overview. Some attachments were only available in the English version.

That was why we always asked for two versions.

Daher lassen wir uns immer beide Programme geben.

Guckt man auf die Zelte... das sieht doch etwas vornehmer bei Celebrity aus.

Look at the tents... looked more elegant with Celebrity.

The last guests came back from their shore excursions but they were for NORWEGIAN JEWEL I guessed.

Die letzten Ausflügler kommen von der Insel zurück, allerdings sind die wohl mehr für die NORWEGIAN JEWEL bestimmt.

Bevor wir auslaufen warten zwei Tenderboote von der NORWEGIAN JEWEL, das sie einlaufen dürfen, aber sie müssen warten, bis dass wir weg sind.

Bevor we sailed two tender boatds of NORWEGIAN JEWEL had to wait until we left before they could enter the port area.

The men who were in charge for the ropes wanted to leave the island. But their driver was in a discussion and did not show up.

Die Männer, die die Leinen losgemacht haben, würden gerne wieder von ihrer Insel runter. Nur deren Fahrdienst hält gerade rechts sein Schwätzchen und kommt nicht.

So warten die Tenderboote eben bei lauter Musik weiter.

I was jealous: I wanted to be there as well to see the view.

Beneidenswert: dort würde ich auch gerne sein, um rauszugucken.

Weiter geht es zum Monkey-Business, das mitlerweile 5 USD Eintritt kostet. Zum Zeitpunkt der Buchung waren es 2 USD, aber wir wurden von Victor informiert, dass die Preise gestiegen sind.

We continued to the Monkey Business which costed now 5 USD admission fee. At the time of booking it was 2 USD but Victor kept us informed about the new prices.

In theory credit cards were accepted. But the authorisation network did not run so you could only pay in cash.

Es wurden theoretisch Kreditkarten angenommen. Nur lief irgendwie das Authorisierungsnetz nicht, so dass man bloß in bar zahlen konnte.

Wer die Infrastruktur eines Zoologischen Gartens erwartet hat, dürfte enttäuscht worden sein.

Who was expecting the infrastructure of a zoological garden might be disappointed.

You see some animals like you would see in the nature. In a tight atmosphere - but without the need to do a long jungle tour.

Man sieht ein paar Tiere, wie sie hier in der Natur vorkommen. Auf engen Raum zwar, aber ohne, dass man eine lange Dschungeltour machen muss.

Wenn die Fluggesellschaften immer weiter die Gepäckmitnahme einschränken, bleiben Scott nur noch zwei Alternativen: eine kleine Kompaktkamera oder eine Nudisten-Kreuzfahrt... Ein echter Profi geht natürlich auf Nudisten-Kreuzfahrt, bevor er auf seine Ausrüstung verzichtet - oder???

If the airlines will restrict more and more the carriage of baggage Scott will have only two alternatives: a small compact camera or a cruise for nudists... A true professional will go on a nudist cruise before he would waive his photo equipement - or???

Somehow sweet.

Irgendwie süß.

Man konnte auch in die Käfige rein und sich aus der Sicht der Tiere alles mal ansehen.

You could also go into the cages to see it from the view of the animals.

So you had the chance to take pictures without any fence.

So konnte man auch ohne Zaun etwas fotografieren.

Hier wollte ich lieber schnell wieder raus... So schön wie sie auf der Stange sitzen, so weniger schön, war es natürlich von ihnen getroffen werden...

Der kleine weiss schon, wie man die Damenhandtaschen öffnet und wonach man suchen muss...

Man kommt immer nur mit einem Führer durch den kleinen Park, damit nichts passiert.

Das ist übrigens Victor Bodden persönlich.

Weiter ging es Roatan Schmetterlings Garten. Das kostete 7 USD Eintritt. Auch hier funktionierte das Lesegerät für die Kreditkarten nicht.

We continued to Roatan's Butterfly Garden. The admission fee was 7 USD. But here the card reader did not work either.

Looked nice but dangerous... he was not a pure vegetarian.

Sieht schön aus, aber gefährlich... lebt nicht ausschließlich vegetarisch.

Alle behaupten, dass ich einen Vogel hätte, weil ich blogge, haben vollkommen Recht. In der Tat habe ich einen Vogel, aber es macht mir Spaß. Und offensichtlich haben manche von euch auch einen Vogel, weil ihr euch das auch noch antut es zu lesen, was ich schreibe.

Everybody who thought that I have bats in a belfry (or in German: to have a bird...) were totally right... indeed I had a bird and it is fun. Some of you who all I wrote as well...

Many of the birds were fed until they could be released back to wild life.

Viele der Vögel werden hier wieder hochgepäppelt, bevor sie wieder in die Wildnis entlassen werden.

The parrots were found partly without any feather. Here they can recreate from their trauma. One of the parrots recognized his tantalizer and bited off a piece of his finger.

Die Papageien wurden z. T. ohne Federn aufgefunden. Hier können sie sich wieder von dem Trauma erholen. Einer der Papageien hat wohl seinen Peininger erkannt und ihm ein Stück Finger abgebissen.

Die Rehkitze laufen nach Schließung des Parks frei herum. Sie wurden schon freigelassen und kamen aber immer wieder zurück, weil sie von ihrer Mutter nicht mehr angenommen wurden.

The fawns will be released to walk around in the park when the park was closed. They were released and came back because they were not anymore accepted by their mother.

We continued to the butterfly hall. There were odd ducks like me.

Weiter geht es in die Schmetterlingshalle. Dort gibt es so schräge Vögel, wie mich.

Finally to the butterflies.

Endlich geht es zu den Schmetterlingen.

This visit was worth.

Der Besuch hat sich gelohnt.

Es geht weiter nach Westend. Aber da es regnete, mochten wir nicht aussteigen.

We continued to Westend. But as it was raining we did not like to walk around.

There were few nice shops here around.

Es gibt hier rund herum schöne Geschäfte.

Ein Aufenthalt bei Sonnenschein mit einem kurzen Bad in der Karibik wäre es wert gewesen.

A stay with sunshine with a short bath in the Caribbean Sea would be very nice.

But it should not be this day.

Aber das soll heute nicht sein.

Weiter geht es zu einem weiteren Resort, das noch Time-Sharing-Teilhaber sucht.

We continued to another resort which was open for further time-sharing-investors.

Here were beach life - come rain or shine.

Hier am Strand wird wohl bei Regen und Sonne gebadet.

An der Strandbar herrscht reger Betrieb.

The beach bar was very busy.

Some greetings to Austria... we did not go to the water... but put our feet into the water... but you see other did their swimming.

Schönen Gruß nach Österreich... wir haben hier nicht gebadet... aber zumindest mal die Füße ins Wasser gesteckt... aber andere haben hier gebadet...

Schade, dass es in diesem Hafen es irgendwie sehr kurz war. Andererseits war es mal wieder schön, einen Ort im Hellen zu erreichen und zu verlassen.

What a pity that the stay in this port was very short. But it was also nice to arrive and to leave a port during the daylight.

With paiagirl (Frances and Eddie from cruisecritic.com) and Katie and Charlie and ssCRUISERS (Scott and Sandy) and rolloman (Rolleigh all from cruisecritic.com) we had a private tour with Victor Bodden.

On the left side the taxis were waiting for guests.

Francisco was waiting for us with his minibus. It was very convenient on our tour: you could just be quite without being blamed for not being entertaining. I was allowed to decide with whom and in which language I was talking to someone. There was no need to have just one opinion: Each of us was able to have a different opinion and share it with others and without rated as general opinion.

Auf uns wartet Francisco mit seinem Minibus. Was sehr angenehm war an dieser Fahrt: man konnte einfach auch mal schweigen, ohne dass man sich den Vorwurf gefallen lassen musste, dass man nicht unterhalten wird. Ich konnte entscheiden, mit wem ich wann und in welcher Sprache mich unterhalten konnte. Und wir mussten uns alle nicht einig sein: jeder durfte seine eigenen Eindrücke sammeln und behalten und für sich selbst bewerten.

It was the "Best of Roatan"-Tour and you can add options to this tour.

Die Tour hieß "Best of Roatan" und man konnte noch Zusatzelemente hinzubuchen.

Kennt jemand noch James Bonds DER MANN MIT DEM GOLDENEN COLT??? Da gab es den kleinen Kellner, der Schnick-Schnack genannt wurde: Hervé Villechaize. Er spielte in der Serie FANTASY ISLAND mit. Dort sollen z. T. die Außenaufnahmen entstanden sein.

Do you remember James Bond's THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN??? There was a little waiter who was called Schnick-Schnack: Hervé Villechaize. He played also in the TV-show FANTASY ISLAND. Some of the outdoor shots should have been made here.

We were taken at first to a observation point. There you can see the cliff where the water broke.

Wir werden zunächst einmal zu einem Aussichtspunkt geführt. Dort kann man das Riff sehen, an dem das Wasser bricht.

Naheliegenderweise heißt der Punkt THE VIEW (Der Anblick). Hier treffen wir auch Carmen, Inge und Richard, die auch eine Tour gebucht haben, da das Wetter keinen Strandaufenthalt zulässt.

The name of the place was THE VIEW suggested itself. Here we met Carmen, Inge and Richard who also booked a tour as the weather did not permit a beach-day.

Francisco was a so-called taxi-guide i. e. he was driving and guiding. The other tours we made we had a tour guide and a different driver. You could feel this in your wallet. But it should be very difficult to find a German speaking tourguide on Roatan. With the help of the tourist office I had contact with a German speaking tour-operator. But they did not want to quote unless I could offer them a busload full of guests.

Francisco ist ein sogenannter Taxi-Guide, d. h. er führt und fährt. Bei den bisherigen Touren hatten wir ja jeweils einen Fremdenführer und einen separaten Fahrer. Das macht sich finanziell schon bemerkbar. Nur einen deutschsprachigen Taxi-Guide auf Roatan zu finden, dürfte schwierig sein. Mit Hilfe vom Fremdenverkehrsamt hatte ich auch Kontakt zu einem deutschsprachigen Unternehmen. Allerdings wollte er erst aktiv werden, wenn eine ganze Busladung an Interessenten zusammenkommen.

Wir fahren zu einem Resort weiter.

We drove to a resort.

Looked nice to spend 10 USD for a beach day. But Francisco told us that there were nicer resorts.

Hier hätten wir gerne 10 USD ausgegeben, um einen Strandtag einzulegen. Francisco sagt uns allerdings, dass es noch bessere Resorts gäbe.

Naheliegenderweise: dort wo ein schönes Fleckchen Erde ist, ist auch ein Resort.

For practical reasons: where it was nice there was a resort.

To us it made a good impression.

Auf uns machte es einen guten Eindruck.

Wir wollten eine Tasse Kaffee dort trinken, und einmal die Toiletten sehen und mussten dafür keine 10 USD Eintritt zahlen, weil man natürlich neue potentielle Kunden gewittert hat, die hier vielleicht ein Time-Sharing-Projekt mitfinanzieren wollten.

For a cup of coffee and the use of the restroom there was no need to pay 10 USD because they hoped to acquire new customers who might be interested to invest in a time-sharing-project.

Really pity.

Echt schade.

Schön gepflegt.

Nicely maintained.

Hope it should work out the next time.

Hoffentlich klappt es beim nächsten Mal.

Die Anlage merken wir uns schon mal.

It was occassionally quite narrow.

Zum Teil ging es ganz schön eng zu.

Auf einem Aussichtspunkt positionieren sich zwei Polizisten neben Katie und Charlie für ein Foto. Und das schöne: nicht wie in Ägypten, wenn dann die Hand aufgehalten wird. Ein Gracias tut es auch.

Up on an observation point two policemen allow Kate and Charles to have pictures with them. And it was nice: not like Egypt when they opened their hand... A Gracias was just enough.

Over this muddy road we went down the observation point.

Über eine Matschpiste ging es vom Aussichtspunkt wieder runter.

Nicht gerade die Vorzeigegegenden.

Not a very representative quarter.

Eine Überraschung kommt rein: C. COLUMBUS.

A surprise came in: C. COLUMBUS

But first of all they just released a tender boat to get the equipment for the tender boat station ashore.

Zunächst lässt sie jedoch nur ein Tenderboot aus, um die Ausrüstung für die Tenderstation an Land zu bringen.

Danach sucht sich die C. COLUMBUS eine neue Stelle, an der sie ankern kann.

Then C. COLUMBUS looked for a new place where she could anchoring.

So we saw her during the morning on different locations in the port.

So sehen wir sie im Laufe des Vormittags an verschiedenen Positionen im Hafen.

Schade, dass sie nicht mehr in die Große Seen fährt.

It is a shame that she does not offer anymore the cruises to the Greak Lakes.

That was the last watch we had before she left.

Das ist der letzte Anblick, bevor sie vor uns allen wieder weg ist.

Auch die NORWEGIAN JEWEL ist da, als wir vom Frühstück kommen. Der Klappe für den Tenderausgang ist bereits offen.

NORWEGIAN JEWEL was there when we came from breakfast. The shutter for the tender exit was already open.

The tender boats were already released. From stateroom 8566 which we had on NORWEGIAN GEM you should see us now.

Die Tenderboote sind heruntergelassen. Von der Kabine 8566, die wir ja mal auf der NORWEGIAN GEM haben, müsste man uns ja jetzt sehen.

Nach und nach kommen die Tenderboote zu Wasser.

By and by all tender boats were now in the water.

All boats were in action.

Alle Boote warten auf ihren Einsatz.

Hier müssten auch Freunde von uns sitzen. Ich kenne sie gut genug, dass sie bestimmt das ganze Schiff auf den Kopf gestellt hat, damit sie im 1. Tender sitzen. Sie sind mitlerweile eh Latitudes Platin-Mitglieder und haben Priority Tendertickets.

I think that our friends should be there. I knew them well enough to know that they did everything on the ship to be in the first tender. But they were anyway already Latitudes Platinum-Members and should have priority tendertickets.

I was funny to had an appointment for a private tour from different ships.

Ist schon witzig, wenn man sich zum gemeinsamen Ausflug von unterschiedlichen Schiffen verabredet.

Später, als wir fahren, dürfen die Tenderboote nicht fahren.

Later we learned that the tender boats were not allowed to leave when we were leaving.

So we did not find them on the open deck to wave us because the tender boat service to NORWEGIAN JEWEL was suspended 20 minutes before the sailing of CELEBRITY EQUINOX.

So finden wir sie nicht hier auf dem offenenen Deck, damit sie uns rüberwinken, weil der Tenderbootbetrieb zur NORWEGIAN JEWEL ca. 20 Minuten vor Ablegen der CELEBRITY EQUINOX unterbrochen wurde.

Das war schade.

I was sorry for that.

But let us introduce our friends who came here with the first tender.

Aber stellen wir mal die Freunde vor, die hier mit dem 1. Tender an Land gespült werden.

Später sitzen sie auf der Bank und winken uns zu, als wir schon wieder an Bord sein müssen.

Later they sit on the bench and waved us when we need to back on board.

Now they tried to get back on their ship to wave from their ship to us. They reported that NCL became a little worse. Obviously the water boiler in the staterooms was not available anymore. And they canceled the welcome champagne too. Maybe it was good that we started our research for alternatives.

Nun versuchen sie doch noch zum Schiff zu kommen, um uns von dort aus zuzuwinken. Sie berichten uns, dass es leider auf der NCL wieder etwas schlechter geworden ist. Offensichtlich gibt es auf den Kabinen auch den Wasserkocher nicht mehr. Und auch wohl der Willkommenssekt wurde gestrichen. Vielleicht ist es gut so, dass wir uns schon mal nach Alternativen umsehen.

Bislang waren wir noch nicht auf gemeinsamer Kreuzfahrt, das blieb anderen vorbehalten, die hier immer mitlesen und mit ihr im Schwarzen Meer unterwegs waren.

We never went cruising together. This pleasure was limited to some friends reading the blog and went with her to the Black Sea.

Now they were in the tender boat. But nobody knew that they need to stay there until we left.

Und nun sind die im Tenderboot. Schade, dass keiner von uns weiss, dass der Tender hier erst wieder fahren darf, wenn wir abgelegt haben.

Im Innen gucke ich mich immer noch um und entdecke immer wieder neue Eindrücke.

Some new impressions from the interior of our ship.

Sky Observation Lounge appeared from my taste too cool. That was why I was not there very often. I prefer HAL's Crow's Nest.

Die Sky Observation Lounge wirkt mir zu cool. Deswegen bin ich dort eigentlich recht selten. Da mag ich lieber das Crow's Nest bei HAL.

Die öffentlichen Toiletten sind sehr chic und es gibt sogar Stoffhandtücher.

The public toilets were very attractive and you get linen towels.

If you used the urinals you had time to philosophize... Were on the ladies' room cooking recipes??? I the men's room's cabinet there was nothing because they thought it could occur unnecessary long stays there...

Beim Urinieren hat man Zeit zum Philosophieren... Gibt es in der Damentoilette Küchenrezepte??? In den Kabinen der Herrentoiletten gibt es nichts, weil man wohl kein Interesse hat, dass manche unnötig lange darin verweilen...

Lt. deutschem Tagesprogramm soll die Rezeption des Aqua Spas um 06.00 Uhr besetzt sein... das stimmt offensichtlich leider nicht...

According to the German programme the reception desk of Aqua Spa should be occupied from 06.00 am... but that did not seem to be true...

So I had a look into the relax rooms at the bow of deck 11.

Also gucke ich mir in Ruhe die Ruheräume am Bug des Deck 11 an.

Es gibt sogar Getränke.

Few beverages were available.

Looked very nice.

Sieht ja alles sehr nett aus.

Über diese Treppe gelangt man zu dem Hauptempfang des Aqua Spas auf Deck 12.

You get over this stairs to the main reception of the Aqua Spa at deck 12.

Outside it was raining dogs and cats.

Draußen regnet es in Strömen.

Land in Sicht.

Land on sight.

As it was raining I watched the entry from the Sky Observation Lounge. At this time I had her all for me alone.

Da es regnet, gucke ich mir die Einfahrt lieber aus der Sky Observation Lounge an. Um diese Zeit habe ich sie ganz für mich alleine.

Oh, was erwartet uns denn da???

Looked like true wild life???

Sind wir dieses Mal richtig in der Wildnis???

Bis jetzt waren wir immer an einem großen Hafen, in dem nebenbei auch Kreuzfahrtschiffe angelegt haben.

We berthed so far at big ports where also some cruise ship berthed.

But here no crane to see so far.

Nur hier sind keine Kräne in Sicht.

Als wir festmachen, werden die kleinen Fischer verscheucht.

When we berthed small fisherman boats were sent away.

We arrived at the cruise terminal. It looked like a true cruise terminal where no cargo ships were handled.

Wir kommen am Kreuzfahrtterminal an. Ein reines Kreuzfahrtterminal, an dem nicht nebenbei noch andere Frachtschiffe abgefertigt werden.

Z. T. muss auf solchen Inseln festgemacht werden.

They need such islands to fix the ships.

A group of local musicians were rocking us the first minute before we berthed.

Eine Gruppe einheimischer Musiker ist schon vor dem Anlegen voll dabei uns einzustimmen.

Das scheinen schon Reihen voller Taxen zu sein, die sich anstellen.

Seemed to be a long row of taxis which were queuing for us.

On the pier for tender boats some excursion boats used to board their passengers as well. Very practical.

Durch die Anleger für die Tenderboote werden auch die Ausflugsboote bestiegen. Das ist äußerst praktisch.

Von unserem Balkon aus, können wir das kristallklare Wasser sehen.

From our balcony we can see the crystal clear water.

Hapag-Lloyd set up for their guests the tender boat station.

Hapag-Lloyd baut für seine Kunden die Tenderbootstation auf.

Auf der anderen Seite wird die Tenderbootstation für NCL aufgebaut.

For a small tip the group let take you some pictures.

Gegen ein kleines Trinkgeld lässt sich die Gruppe auch gerne fotografieren.

Am Informationsstand bekommt man Tipps und Karten.

At the information stand you get recommendations and maps.

The Town Center was a cruise complex with a lot of shops and restuarants.

Das Town Center ist der Kreuzfahrtkomplex mit vielen Geschäften und Restaurants.

Hier ist die Gasse, die zu den Touren führt: links Taxen, in der Mitte die Stände der Tourenanbieter und rechts die Busse.

This was the alley which take you to the tours: left taxis and in the center the stands of the tour operators and right the buses.

Opposite there was an island you need to pay admission fee if you want to stay there a day.

Gegenüber einer der Inseln, für die man Eintritt zahlen muss, wenn man auf ihr einen Tag verweilen will.

Auf der Steuerbordseite des Silhouette-Restaurants auf Deck 3 wird wieder ein Express-Frühstück serviert. Alle bekommen das gleiche zu Essen. Keine Extra-Würste möglich.

On the starboard side of the Silhouette-Restaurant on Deck 3 they served again an Express-Breakfast. Everbody get the same breakfast. No extras possible.

We went to the other side because we did not want to leave immediately from the ship. Like again we got immediately everything on my table.

Wir gehen zur anderen Seite, weil wir nicht sofort von Bord wollen. Wie üblich geht es ruckzuck, bis dass wir alles am Tisch haben.

Meine Wurst- und Käseplatte kommt.

My plate of cold cut (charcuterie) and cheese came.

I wanted some fried eggs and some corned hashed browns. To save space I layed off like a professional my cold cut on my egg-plate.

Ich wollte ein paar Spiegeleier und etwas "Labskaus". Um Platz zu sparen, trage ich wie ein Profi meinen Aufschnitt auf den Eierteller auf.

Dabei werde ich von José beobachtet. Er fällt unter den Maître auf: er ist nämlich kein großgewachsener, der über die Köpfe der Gäste hinwegguckt, um nur zu sehen, ob ein Tisch frei ist. Er arbeitet abends im Tuscan Grille und guckt den Gästen in die Augen und sucht den Kontakt. Er hört zu, weil er auf Augenhöhe mit einem spricht und schaut nicht auf die Gäste herab (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes). Er kommt um meinen leeren Teller zu holen, bevor ich die letzte Scheibe runtergeholt habe. Ihm liegt eine Frage auf der Zunge, aber er bringt erst mal den leeren Teller weg und dann kommt er wieder und fragt nach, ob ich vielleicht in der Gastronomie arbeiten würde. Er war übrigens gestern beim Brunch der einzige, dem ich mal meine Beobachtungen anvertraut habe. Ich habe ihm gesagt, dass ich das alles unheimlich toll finde, aber nicht verstehe, warum eigentlich Celebrity die Chance nicht nutzt, der Beste zu sein und es am Besteck scheitert. Er bittet um Erläuterung und zum ersten Mal sehe ich jemanden wie bei Asterix und Obelix, die die Gesichtsfarbe innerhalb von Bruchteilen von Sekunden ändert, als ich ihm erkläre, dass ein Kellner erklärt hätte, dass es Celebrity's Policy sei, dass das Besteck nicht ausgetauscht wird. Ich komme nicht dazu, weiterzusprechen. An dieser Stelle, erklärt er mir, dass es natürlicherweise nicht Celebrity's Policy sei, dass man das Besteck weiternutzt. Das war alles, was ich wissen wollte. Er lässt es nicht dabei, sondern folgt mir und sieht in der Tat, dass wohl der Kellner zwar meinen Teller abgeräumt hat, aber in der Tat das Besteck wieder auf meinen Platzt gelegt hat. Er kommt persönlich mit frischem Besteck und ersetzt meines und lässt auch das Besteck der anderen ersetzen. Den Rest des Brunches erhalten wir immer frisches Besteck, so wie es sein sollte.

José observed me when I did it. It's easy to identify him of all maîtres: he is not a tall long man who looked over the guests to check if a table was vacant. He was working in the evening in the Tuscan Grille and looked his guests into the eyes to get a contact. He listened because he was facing his guests and did not look down to you (physically). He came to get my empty plate before I layed off the last slice. You could see that he had a question but he took away first the empty plate. Then he returned and he asked if I worked in the gastronomy. He was by the way the only maître whom I talked frankly about my observations at the brunch. I told him that I was wondering that Celebrity had the chance to the best of the bests but had the small silverware problem. He asked for explainations and it was the very first time that someone changed within moments like you normally know from the cartoons of Asterix and Obelix when I told him that some waiter said that it was Celebrity's policy to keep the dirty silverware. I had no chance to continue. Of course he said what I expected: that it was no policy of Celebrity to keep the silverware. He did not let me just go and followed me to make sure that everything was allright with us. Then he saw me returning to my seat and saw that my dirty plate was taken away but the dirty silverware was put back on the table. He came with fresh silverware and replaced my silverware. Further he arranged that all others get fresh silverware as well. From now we got for the rest of the brunch fresh silverware.

One of the waiters we know from Silk Harvest was thanking us for our visit. We asked if they made a doggy-bag. He told us that it was no standard in restaurants like Silk Harvest to arrange doggy-bags. While I was taking the picture I wished him to have fun because I know that he will need a doggy bag again in few days. Bruno choked on his bite and we promised to have a look for a Chinese restaurant on Roatan to ask for a doggy bag box. Nobody should stay that Celebrity did not do their best to let their guests feeling and behaving like home.

Einer der Kellner, der uns zuvor im Silk Harvest bedient hat, und sich nochmals bei uns für unseren Besuch bedankt. Wir erkundigen uns, ob tatsächlich ein Doggy-Bag gepackt wurde. Er teilt uns mit, dass es in einem Restaurant wie dem Silk Harvest nicht üblich sei, die Reste einzupacken und mitzugeben. Während ich fotografiere und Bruno gerade etwas kaut, wünsche ich ihm viel Vergnügen, weil ich weiss, dass in ein paar Tagen vielleicht wieder eine Mitnahmebox gebraucht wird. Bruno verschluckt sich darauf hin... und wie versprechen auf Roatan nach einem China-Restaurant zu suchen und ihm eine Mitnahmebox zu besorgen. Niemand soll sagen, dass Celebrity nicht dafür sorgt, dass man sich wie zu Hause fühlt und sich entsprechend benehmen kann.

Die CARNIVAL DREAM kommt. Leider nicht mehr zu uns, da seit einiger Zeit Carnival ein eigenes Terminal auf Roatan betreibt.

CARNIVAL DREAM came. But not to us since Carnival had a terminal of their own on Roatan.

When we came back from breakfast we could find the ship between the trees.

Als wir vom Frühstück wiederkommen können wir das Schiff zwischen den Bäumen erkennen.

Tag 8.2 Seetag / Day 8.2 Day on Sea

Irgendwie denke ich, dass heute aber besonders schlampig geputzt wurde. Aber man klärt mich auf, dass ein anderes Desinfizierungsmittel im Stundentakt eingesetzt wird, aber dieses darf nicht trocken poliert werden, sondern muss an der Luft trocknen.

Somehow I had the impression the were cleaning very sloppy this day. But they explained that they used now another sanitizer every hour. But they cannot polish them dry and had to let it air-dried.

The did not become calmer.

Die See wird nicht ruhiger.

Wir hängen im Café al Bacio herum. Dort gibt es diese Jungs (These Guys) - die Acapella-Gruppe. Leider singen sie nie sehr lange. Würde ich an deren Stelle auch nicht tun. Eine Gruppe von Russen interessiert es nicht, dass alle anderen im Café hier sitzen, um den Gesang zu hören. Sie unterhalten sich so laut weiter, als ob sie alleine an Bord wären.

We hanged around in Café al Bacio. There were real These Guys - the acapella-group. Unfortunately they did not sing very long. I would not do it either. A group of Russians were not so much interested that all others in the Café wanted to listen to the songs. They talked so loud as if they would be just alone here.

... and then you put the upper pot hot tea into the can full of ice cubes. Unfortunately not free of charge. Cost of 5 USD.

... und dann wird die obere Kanne heißer Tee in die Kanne mit den Eiswürfeln gekippt. Leider ist der nicht umsonst, sondern kostet 5 USD.

Abends geht es ins Murano. Die aktuelle Zuzahlung beträgt 35 USD.

In the evening we went to Murano. The actual cover charge is 35 USD.

A very nice ambience where you only need smart casual all the time even it is formal night on board.

Ein wunderschönes Ambiente, in dem immer smart casual gilt, auch wenn formelle Nacht wäre.

Daher waren zwei Sachen für mich unverständlich: dass Hawaii-Shirts und Cargo-Hosen akzeptiert wurden und dass man seine eigenen Plastik-Wasserflaschen mitführen darf.

So two things I did not understand: Hawaii-shirts and cargo-pants were accepted and that you can bring your own plastic bottles into the restaurant.

There was no bread basket on the table but a perfect service which would not gave us a chance to pick the bread basket on the table.

Es gab keinen Brotkorb auf dem Tisch, sondern einen perfekten Service, der uns nicht mal die Chance gegeben hätte, nach dem Brotkorb am Tisch zu greifen.

Die Baguettes sahen lustig aus... mit dem Schwänzchen...

Ein Gaumenkitzler eröffnet das Menü.

Ihr müsst Bruno fragen, wie gut es war... denn ich durfte mal nicht bei ihm probieren...

You need to ask Bruno how good it was... I was not allowed to try.

But he was not allowed either to try my scallop.

Er durfte aber auch nicht meine Jakobsmuscheln probieren.

Einfach lecker.

Just yummy.

There must be a difference between the lobster bisque in the Silhouette-Restaurant which you can expect for 35 USD (or with us 30 USD).

Es gab doch einen kleinen Unterschied zu der Hummercremesuppe im Silhoutte Restaurant, den man für 35 USD (bzw. bei uns 30 USD) erwarten durfte.

Aber leider auch hier: nachwürzen war leider erforderlich.

But here as well: post-seasoning was necessary.

This should be the sea food risotto which was on the menu of the Silhouette-Restaurant. Or vice versa. There is always one dish available on the menu of the Silhouette-Restaurant from the various Celebrity-speciality-restaurants. But this looked totally different and much more better. Das sollte eigentlich das Meeresfrüchte Risotto sein, das mal auf der Karte vom Silhouette-Restaurant stand. Oder umgekehrt. Es wird ja im Silhouette Restaurant immer ein Gericht aus den diversen Celebrity-Zuzahlrestaurants vorgestellt. Nur das sieht ja doch etwas anders und vor allem besser aus. Und mein geliebter Pfefferservice.

My surf and turf. Bruno said that this FIlet Mignon met closely to his favorite filet mignon from L'Étoile on MSC FANTASIA.

Certainly the lemon butter came before we had a chance to pick our silverware.

Selbstverständlich kommt die Zitronenbutter, bevor es uns gelingt, das Besteck in die Hand zu nehmen.

Beim Dessert gibt es keinen Streit: alle bekommen alles. Warum steht kein Rollstuhl bereit??? Hoffentlich sieht mein Arzt dieses Bild nicht...

With the dessert we had no trouble. Each of us got each of the various desserts. Why was there no wheelchair??? I hope that my doctor will not see this picture.

Of course some goodies at the end... The coffee was on them: because ellbon (Robin) hat three coffee coupons and we had two. Perfect. Only the wine coupons were not accepted as they were only valid for the housewise in the Silhouette-Restaurant which were not served here.

Und natürlich noch das Leckerli ganz am Schluss... Der Kaffee geht auf das Haus. Denn ellbon (Robin) bringt drei Kaffeecoupons mit und wir haben zwei. Perfekt. Nur unsere Weincoupons werden nicht anerkannt. Die gelten nur für die Hausweine im Silhoutte-Hauptrestaurant, die hier nicht ausgeschenkt werden.

Insgesamt erleben wir den perfektesten Service am ganzen Schiff. Nur eine Kleinigkeit würde es von 99,9% auf 100,1% bringen: schwarze Servietten für Gäste mit dunklen Hosen. Die gibt es sogar im Hauptrestaurant bei NCL... Das Murano hat sich in die Reihe von unseren Lieblingsschiffsrestaurants eingereiht: Todd English, Pinnacle Grill und L'Étoile

In total we experienced the most perfect service on the whole ship. Just a small thing would make it from 99.9% to 100.1%: black napkins for guests with dark pants. That you get even in the main restaurant on NCL... Murano joined in our favorite ship restaurants like Todd English, Pinnacle Grill and L'Étoile.

You can also book a private room for special occassions.

Übrigens kann man im Murano auch einen separaten Raum für kleine Feiern buchen.

Was ja ganz praktisch ist: die Fußablage in der Dusche, kann man auch zum Reinigen und Trocknen der Schuhe benutzen.

One of the drawers went out of the anchorage. We informed our stateroom attendant the morning and one hour later it was fixed.

Eine der Schublade hat sich aus der Verankerung gerissen. Wir haben es morgens unserem Steward gesagt und eine Stunde später, war alles gefixt.

Seit heute gibt es auch Nachrichten in Deutsch im Fernsehprogramm. Bislang funktionierte es nicht.

We could get a registration for the on board phone network. T-Mobile and Vodafone (both German networks) worked to receive phone calls.

Unfortunately all public announcements were not broadcasted on the TV-screen. May cruise lines offer on the typical navigation information or webcam channel the announcements. But here you get nothing.

Leider werden die Ansagen nicht auf das Fernsehsystem übertragen. Bei vielen Gesellschaften werden die Ansagen hier auf dem typischen Navigationsprogramm oder auf dem Webcam-Kanal übertragen. Hier ist aber nichts.

Auch ist das immer ein wenig eigenartig, dass das Schiff immer hin- und zurück über verschiedene Routen zwischen dem letzten Hafen und dem aktuellen Standort fährt.

Schon morgens werden die Desserts in der Vitrine im Bistro on Five aufgebaut. Gegessen haben wir sie nie.

In the morning all desserts were displayed in the Bistro on Five. We never tried them.

At 10.00 am we should have brunch. But just this morning we waked up so early that we had to have some little croissants in Café al Bacio to bridge the time.

Es gibt um 10.00 Uhr Brunch. Nur ausgerechnet heute Morgen sind wir früh wach und so gönnen wir uns kleine Croissants im Café al Bacio um die Zeit zu überbrücken.

Draußen ist die See nicht besonders ruhig.

Outside the sea was not very calm.

So there were not so many on the sundeck. It was interesting to see which some of them tried carageously to arrange blanket and towel on a sunbed without had it blown away before they had a chance to sit.

So sind nicht so viele auf dem Sonnendeck. Ist allerdings interessant zuzugucken, wie manche sich doch tapfer versuchen, Wolldecke und Liegetuch ordentlich zu platzieren, ohne dass bis zum Aufsitzen der Wind wieder alles weg geweht war.

Draußen findet ein Manöver statt.

At 10.00 am we went to brunch.

Um 10.00 Uhr geht es zum Brunch.

Die Massen warten schon, dabei läuft es bis 13.00 Uhr und es wird immer aufgefüllt. Wer so gegen 11.30 Uhr/12.00 Uhr kommt, hat mehr Platz um das Büffet herum.

All were waiting outside although you could have it until 01.00 pm and they refilled all. We came around 11.30 am/12.00 noon had more space to see the buffet.

I was very impressed because I expected to have something like Brasserie 30 on Royal Caribbean.

Ich war schwer beeindruckt, da ich eigentlich mit Brasserie 30 wie bei Royal Caribbean gerechnet hätte.

A very good idea. Midnight buffet has two disadvantages:

Eine sehr gute Idee: Mitternachtsbüffet haben zwei Nachteile:

1. Sie finden Mitternacht (oder kurz davor statt), ein enormer Aufwand für die Crew, die ja kaum Ruhe findet.

1. They are hold around midnight (or just ahead of...), an extreme effort for the crew who has barely time to rest.

2. From the nutrition it is totally wrong to have such quantity of food and many guests are already sleeping.

2. Ernährungsphysiologisch ist es eh verkehrt, nachts noch soviel zu sich zu nehmen und viele sind schon im Bett.

Daher finde ich es gut, die Schönheit des Mitternachtsbüffets mit einer doch notwendigen Mahlzeit zu verbinden.

That was why I liked the idea to combine the beauty of a midnight buffet with the mandantory need to offer a lunch.

As it was a little rough sea there were not so many on the sun deck so they had to open the upper tier of the Silhouette-Restaurant.

Dadurch, dass es etwas stürmischer war, waren wenig auf dem Sonnendeck und daher musste sogar der obere Teil des Silhouette-Restaurants geöffnet werden.

The offered champage against payment. But the waiters did not came as frequently as you may like it.

Auch Sekt wurde gegen Bezahlung angeboten. Leider liefen die Kellner mit dem Sekt nicht sehr oft durch, wie man es sich wünschen würde.

Wir haben wohl Glück gehabt, dass es vielleicht noch stattgefunden hat. Was ich hier vermisse: einen Glasschutz, wie wir ihn bei NCL am Büffet hatten. Wenn hier ein Passagier hier niest... igitt...

We were lucky that the buffet was offered. What I missed: a glass protection like we know from NCL's buffet: If one passanger had to sneeze... ihhh....

Some food were freshly made like waffles which occured some waiting lines.

Einige Sachen wurden auch frisch erst zubereitet, wie z. B. Waffeln usw., was manchmal zu kleinen Stangen führte.

Zumindest sollte man es sich angesehen haben, auch wenn man nichts essen möchte.

You should see it even you disliked to eat.

The white-chocolate fountain was not as occupied as the brown-chocolate-fountain.

Der Brunnen mit weißer Schokolade war i. d. R. nicht so belegt wie der Brunnen mit brauner Schokolade.

Einfach klasse, was hier geleistet wurde. Ich bin kein Büffet-Freund, aber auch das hat sogar mich überzeugt, mal wieder es beim nächsten Mal zu versuchen.

It was great to see what they did. I was not the friend of buffets but this effort convinced me to try it again next time.

Das Jazz-Trio spielt in einer Ecke, so dass man sich wie beim schönen Jazz-Frühschoppen fühlt.

The jazz-trio was playing in the corner so you felt like being at a jazz morning pint.

Mit Champignon-Ragout gefülltes Brot.

Fish und Chips ohne Chips, sonst hätte ich es in Zeitung eingewicket bekommen: fand ich sehr originell. Ich wollte lieber einen deutschen Kartoffelsalat dazu.

Fish and chips without chips which you normally get in news paper: was a nice idea. I preferred to have some German potato salad with my fish.

As great the food was as great was the service. You should feel like on a family brunch and the hostess should be bewared of unnecessary house work: They took the silverware from my dirty plate and placed it back on the table.

So schön und toll, wie das Essen war, so klasse fand ich auch den Service: Man wollte, dass man sich wie einem Familien-Brunch fühlt und die Gastgeberin vor unnotwendiger Hausarbeit schützen: Mein Besteck wurde vom Teller genommen und wieder auf die Tischdecke platziert.

Ich fand es auch echt gut, dass man immer einen Tisch freigelassen hat, so dass man einfach das benutzte Geschirr ablegen konnte, weil man nicht immer die Zeit fand, sofort alles zu abzuräumen.

It was also very nice that the left occassionally one table untaken so you could place the used plate because they did not find the time to clear the table.

No more jokes: I did not find it very funny anymore: Two waitress cleared the table but knocked over a glass of water. Her only reaction was "Oops". They talked to eachother in their native language. But it sounded like "Was just water.". There are cruise lines which does not allow any conversation in their native languages when guests are present. They did not take care of the wet chair. I warned other guests which were placed there that the chair was wet and they were happy to know and requested another table. When the waitresses did not show up to dry the chairs I called a maître who passed by. He apologied that the crew had too much to do and took the chair away. But his body language said something else: why could not I just keep my mouth and had to bother him.

Spaß beiseite: ich fand es nicht mehr komisch. Zwei Kellnerin räumen ab und ein Glas Wasser kippt um. Sie machen nur "Oops". Untereinander unterhalten sie sich in ihrer Sprache. Es bedeutet wohl: "Ist ja bloß Wasser". Es gibt übrigens auch Gesellschaften, bei denen ist es verboten, sich vor Gästen in der Heimatsprache sich zu unterhalten. Sie kümmern sich nicht um den nassen Sessel. Ich weise andere Gäste, die dahin platziert wurden auf den nassen Sessel hin und sie freuen sich darüber und wollen einen anderen Platz. Als immer noch von den Kellnerinnen keiner wiederkommt, rufe ich einen Maître, der vorbeiläuft. Der entschuldigt das Personal mit Überlastung und tauscht den Sessel aus. Allerdings seine Körpersprache sagt: hättest du nicht einfach die Klappe halten können und mich in Ruhe lassen können.

Ein anderer Fall: Bruno ist am Büffet und jemand füllt Kaffee nach. Er bemerkt aber nicht, dass die Kanne tropft und auch auf den Sitz. Er geht und ich hole ihn zurück und frage ihn, ob er die Kaffeeflecken nicht entfernen möchte. Seine erste Frage: sitzt dort jemand? Notdürftig macht er die Flecken weg und meint, dass es reicht. Zum Glück trägt Bruno keine weiße Hose und legt sich selbst eine Serviette auf die feuchten Flecken auf dem Polster. Ein echtes Familien-Brunch wie zu Hause also... Das ganze erinnert uns an die NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS. Sandancer (Elaine und Lysle aus cruisecritic.com) haben die gleichen Erfahrungen gemacht, aber auch nur in Europa auf der NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS. In der Karibik wäre die NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS ein Spitzenprodukt. Sie erklären uns auch warum: irgendwie denkt die Crew auf der NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS, dass die Europäer alle Trinkgeldpreller seien: deswegen wäre der Service besonders schlecht, was sie selbst im vergleichbaren Zeitraum erlebt haben. Das erklärt auch, warum marcookie (Marc) es zuvor auf der Transatlantik es anders wahrgenommen hat, als wir. Aber warum eigentlich auch auf der CELEBRITY EQUINOX?

Another issue: Bruno was at the buffet and someone refilled the cofffee. But he did not remark that the can was leaking and coffee went on Bruno's seat. He moved away and I got him back and asked him if he did like to removed the coffee. His first question: was the seat taken? He removed it in a rough-and-ready way and said it sould be enough. Bruno had luckily no white pants and placed a napkin on the wet coffee dot. A true family-brunch like at home... That reminded me all to NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS. Sandancer (Elaine and Lysle from cruisecritic.com) made the same experience but only in Europe as well on NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS. In the Caribbean NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS would be great product. And they were able to explain the reasons: somehow the crew on NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS thought that Europeans are tipping bilks: that is why the service there is extremely bad which they experience themselves in a similiar time frame. That would explain why marcookie (Mark) made totally different experience while he was on the transatlantic crossing then we just did the next cruise after him. But why on CELEBRITY EQUINOX?

Ich nutze den 1-USD-Shuttle und biete ein bisschen mehr, wenn sie mich alleine fahren und wenn sie am Kreuzfahrtpier vorbeifahren, damit ich in Ruhe die CELEBRITY EQUINOX fotografieren kann.

I used the 1-USD_Shuttle and offered them a little more if they do not wait for others and if they go to the cruise ship pier to take pictures of the CELEBRITY EQUINOX.

We went to Oceanview Café to grab some food. At the pizza and pasta section you can get food nearly around the clock. Also pizza as you wish was possible.

Wir gehen ins Ocenview Café, um uns doch noch etwas zu stärken. An der Pizza und Pasta-Bar kann man sich FAST durchgehend stärken. Auch Pizza nach Wunsch ist möglich.

Ich entscheide mich für ein paar Nudeln... Nur der Käse ist denen ausgegangen. Bis dass ich wieder welchen bekomme, dauert es ein paar karibische Minuten...

I decided for some noodles... But the cheese ran out. Until I got some again it took some Caribbean minutes.

Es gibt aber auch ein bisschen Salat und ein paar Schnittchen...

Mich erstaunt allerdings, dass am 7. Tag der Kreuzfahrt immer noch aktiv für Getränkepakete geworben wird.

I was very surprised that they still do at the 7th day of the cruise advertising for the beverage packages.

We were expected for the Silk Harvest. Meanwhile it is a cover charge of 25.00 USD required which you should invest... and let it say now... worth each cent you spend... no matter USD or EUR... Unfortunately our table was not avaialbe. They offered us a table for 12 persons and promised that we did not need to share. As the door stayed open it was always very breezy there so that we asked for another table after a few minutes. They accepted our request.

Abends werden wir im Silk Harvest erwartet. Mitlerweile sind es 25,00 USD Zuzahlung, die man leisten muss - aber vorab... jeden Cent Wert - egal ob USD oder EUR... Leider ist unser Tisch noch nicht frei. Man bietet uns einen alternativen Tisch für 12 Personen an und verspricht uns, dass wir ihn auch nicht teilen müssen. Da jedoch die Tür offen bleibt und es immer durchzieht, bitten wir doch nach wenigen Minuten darum, dass wir einen anderen Tisch bekommen. Diesem Wunsch wird gerne entsprochen.

Zum ersten Mal höre verschiedene asiatische Versionen von "Happy Birthday to you"...

When the crab chips came it was clear that this restaurant was more for the US-market.

Als die Krabbenchips kommen ist sofort klar, dass es mehr für den US-Markt ausgerichtet ist.

Die Wan-Tan-Suppe ist etwas untypisch. Die Brühe war allerdings sehr gut. Ich mag sie am liebsten hauchdünn wie in Hongkong und mit Hackfleisch gefüllt. Das war mehr eine italienische Ravioli. Vermutlich der Einfluss von Marco Polo..

The Won-Ton-Soup was somehow not very typical. The broth was very nice. I like them very thin like you get it in Hong Kong and filled with minced meat. This was more like an Italian ravioli. Maybe the influence of Marco Polo.

Die Brühe wird immer extra hinzugegossen, so auch hier wie bei Brunos Miso-Suppe.

The brooth was always added separately like here with Bruno's miso-soup.

What I liked very much with the Silk Harvest: you had the opportunity to have a true Chinese family dinner banquette there. The menu allowed very well to order a true Chinese dinner for several persons. Sushi and sake were no part of it and did not fit as well as everybody order what you want.

Was mir ausgesprochen gut am Silk Harvest gefällt, ist die Möglichkeit, dass man echte chinesische Familienessen ausrichten kann. Die Karte ließ es sogar sehr gut zu, dass man wirklich sehr authentisch ein chinesisches Abendessen für mehrere Personen zusammenstellen konnte. Dazu gehört allerdings kein Sushi und auch kein Sake. Zu einem chinesischen Abendessen passt es einfach nicht, wenn jeder nur das bestellt, wozu man Lust hat.

Alle anderen Vorspeisen waren erstklassig. Die gefüllten Salatblätter waren so wie sie meine Mutter macht. Natürlich sind sie dort besser als hier... (Der Kellner war damit einverstanden, dass das Essen etwas schlechter war, als das bei meiner Mutter, weil der die Symbolik verstand...). Die Spare-Ribs und Frühlingsrollen waren sehr gut, allerdings für Stäbchenesser zu groß geraten.

All other starters were absolutely great. The filled luttuce was like my mother's style. Of course at home they were better... (The waiter agreed if I rated the food there a little worse than with my mother because he understood the message...). The spare-ribs and spring rolls were very good but to large to handle with chop-sticks.

The bowls with the entrees looked so small but somehow it reminded me to the fairtailes of the Grimm Brothers... They never became empty...

Die Schüsseln mit den Hauptgerichten wirkten nur so klein, aber irgendwie erinnerten sie an Grimms Märchen... Sie wurden niemals leer.

ellbon (Robin) hat uns hier ebenfalls ihre Fähigkeiten bewiesen. Insbesondere als sie darum bat, dass sie die Reste in einem Doggy Bag mit auf die Kabine nehmen darf.

Our "no dessert" was not accepted either. They brought us from each dessert one plate and we should share it and try everything. A wonderful suggestion as you can win wars with these desserts.... Just the icecream with the cover of the sticky rice.

Unser Nein, dass wir kein Dessert mehr wollten wurde nicht akzeptiert. Man hat uns den Vorschlag gemacht, dass man von allem etwas bringt und wir uns das teilen, damit wir alles probieren können. Ein wunderbarer Vorschlag, denn damit kann man vermutlich Kriege gewinnen... Schon alleine das Eis mit dem Klebreismantel...

Die gebackenen Bananen wirkten zum Glück nicht wie die, vom China-Imbiss um die Ecke...

I had no chance to try this... as well with the rice pudding which was gone faster as I could reacted. It was a first-class restaurant-visit with a first-class service and first-class dishes, like I can get in Boston, Houston or Philadelphia. But not like China-Town in New York or San Francisco and with some acceptable commitments to the American market.

Da hatte ich gar keine Gelegenheit zum Probieren... genauso wenig wie beim Milchreis, der schneller weg war, als ich reagieren konnte. Es war ein erstklassiger Restaurant-Besuch mit erstklassigem Service und erstklassigem Essen, wie ich es in Boston, Houston und Philadelphia bekommen würde. Eben nicht China-Town in New York oder San Francisco, sondern mit ein paar akzeptablen Zugeständnissen für den amerikanischen Markt.

Und eben für ein amerikanisches China-Restaurant üblich: Ein Glückskeks am Schluss. Leider keine Nachricht, dass ich bald wieder auf einem Celebrity-Schiff sein werde...

And like in a typical American Chinese restaurant: a fortune cookie at the end. No message that I will be back on a Celebrity-Ship soon...

We came too late for the show. Who liked Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass Band and his trumpet as well as the songs made a very good choice to stay.

In die Show kommen wir zu spät. Wer auf Herb Alpert und seine Tijuana Brass Band steht, und sowohl die Trompetenmusik mag, als auch den entsprechenden Gesang war sehr gut aufgehoben.

Ich bin allerdings vorzeitig gegangen, weil ich die platten Witze nicht mochte. Katie und Charlie sind jedoch länger geblieben und haben doch noch ausgehalten, bis das er wieder gesungen und Trompete gespielt hat. Damit wird die Berichterstattung vom Schiff zunächst mal beendet und erst wieder fortgeführt, wenn wir an Land sind. Mein Online-Guthaben reicht für einen weiteren Tag nicht aus, und wir wollen die letzten Stunden auf dem Schiff noch ein wenig genießen. Von Freunden hören wir, dass die amerikanischen Gesundheitsbehörden CDC bereits an Bord sind und sie erst um 17.00 Uhr mit der Einschiffung beginnen können, wenn alle Restaurants und Kabinen desinfiziert wurden. Für diejenigen, die wegen der Ausflüge buchen wollen: Roatan und Cozumel kann man kurzfristig buchen. Daher noch ein wenig Geduld. Die Fotos sind vorbereitet und wir müssen ja frühzeitig am Flughafen erscheinen. Vielleicht reicht es morgen ja noch für einen weiteren Tag, bevor wir morgen unsere Maschine besteigen.

I left the show very early because I did not like the flat jokes. Katie and Charlie stayed longer and waited until he started to sing and played his trumpet. So we close for now the blogging from the ship and will resume the blogging when we are back ashore. My online credit will not be enough for another day and we want to enjoy some little our last hours on the ship. We heared from friends that the CDC-agents were already on the ship and they will not allow embarkation before 05.00 pm after all restaurants and staterooms will be completely sanitzed. For those who are interested on our Roatan- and Cozumel-tours: you can book them on short notice. So have a little patience. The pictures were already prepared and we need to be early at the airport. Maybe we will add another day before our take-off.

Weiter geht es mit Frederico auf die Kanäle im Tortuguero Nationalpark... Wenn man ihn sprechen hört: der müsste doch eigentlich Franz-Joseph oder Wolfgang Amadeus heißen...

We continued with Frederico on the canals of the Tortuguero National Park... If you hear him talking his name should be typical Austrian like Franz-Joseph or Wolfgang Amadeus.

It was raining dogs and cats again and I was surprised that they did not cancel this part of the tour.

Es regnet wieder in Strömen. Ich bin verwundert, dass die Tour nicht abgesagt ist.

Als die zurückkommen, haben wir eigentlich schon gar keine Lust mehr. Das Dach wurde wohl bloß mit Tesaband festgehalten... sehr wenig vertrauenswürdig.

When they returned we did not like to start. Look at the roof: looked like fixed with tape only... we did not have too much confidence in these kind of ships...

But honestly we were happy to see that Frederico came with this boat which looke much more stable... but like a duck... somehow...

Aber zum Glück kommt Frederico mit diesem Boot, das etwas stabiler aussieht... wirkt aber trotzdem wie eine Ente...

Man kann sehr bequem über dem Bug einsteigen.

You could board quite comfortable over the bow of the ship.

We had so much space and were well protected against rain so each of us had its royal box of its own....

Wir haben so viel Platz und sind gut gegen den Regen geschützt, dass alle von uns Logenplätze haben...

Die anderen mögen vielleicht noch ein wenig näher rankönnen... aber bei strömenden Regen...

But in contrary to Venice I could afford a private tour with driver... and a little comfort was quite appreciated.

Aber im Gegensatz von Venedig, kann ich mir eine Privatfahrt mit Chauffeur leisten... Ein bisschen Komfort wie bei uns, darf es schon sein...

Nur bin ich froh, dass es bei uns doch etwas geschlossener ist und kein Poncho erforderlich...

Watching this I was quite relaxed that our ship was closed and we did not need any ponchos.

There was also one size larger and closed but somehow I think that you will loose the contact to the nature...

Es gibt alles noch eine Nummer größer und geschlossener, aber irgendwie muss man ja noch einen Kontakt mit der Natur bilden können - oder???

and XXL like the ship's tours were using them... I doubted that you can stop spontaneously and make a U-turn to have a closer look to the animals.

Hier hätten wir dann XXL, wie sie von den Schiffsausflügen gebucht werden... aber ob man dann so spontan stoppen und umdrehen kann, um ein Tier sich näher anzusehen, möchte ich doch mal ernsthaft bezweifeln.

Irgendwie war doch ganz froh, dass ich nicht ein Taxi zum Schiff genommen habe, als der Regen richtig einsetzte.

Somehow I was quite happy that we did not take a taxi back to the ship because the rain started.

In the beginning it looked like watching plants only... I was not a fan of salad, vegetables and fruits... Only nice for a bouqet of flowers...

Nur anfangs sah es fast aus, dass es nur nach Pflanzengucken aussah... Ich bin doch absolut kein Salat-, Gemüse- und Obstfan... Das eignet sich doch bloß als Beiwerk zu Blumensträußen...

"Ausgerechnet Bananen... Bananen verlangt sie von mir..." Hier kann keinesfalls dieser alte Schlager komponiert worden sein.

For just a moment the rained stop... so we opened all walls... They were barely above and it started to rain gain... as we had enough space we could let them open.

Für einen Moment hört es auf zu regnen. Wir öffnen alle Wände. Kaum waren sie oben, regnete es schon wieder... Da wir jedoch genug Platz hatten, blieben sie kurzerhand oben.

Outside a ship from Dole came to load bananas.

Draußen kommt ein Schiff von Dole, um die Bananen zu holen.

Eine Familie, die hier campt, flüchtet hier vor dem Regen unter ihr Zelt.

In German we say for odd fishes: all the sloped birds - but this will not fit here as they do not look like fishes.

Gaby got a natural banana which could propogate in their "natural" way: So you had bananas with cores.

Gaby beschafft uns eine Natur-Banane, die sich hier "normal" fortpflanzen können: daraus entstehen Bananen mit Kernen.

As it was Sunday and there was soccer transmission on TV none from the coast guards showed up and checked us like someone told us.

Da heute Sonntag ist und wohl gerade Fußball im Fernsehen läuft, werden wir nicht von der Küstenwache und kontrolliert, wie es wohl auch mal passieren kann.

A sloth was hanging around... but was that not naturally???

Ein Faultier hängt herum... Ist das nicht natürlich???

Und ein Leguan... Frederico fährt und entdeckt für uns die Tiere, die dann Gaby uns erklärt... Wäre es nicht einfacher die Tiere mit einem GPS-Sender auszustatten???

And an iguana... Frederico drove and discovered for us all the animals Gaby was explaining us... Would it not be easier to put an GPS-receiver on the animals???

There were three bats (you are never too old to learn new things... although I know Bat-Man since I am child... now I know what it means... never had an occassion to translate this word before...) on the ant trail were hiding while sleeping.

Hier sind drei Fledermäuse auf der Ameisenstraße und verstecken sich so beim Schlaf.

To avoid any disappointments when you visit this canal they made sure that you cannot be disappointed as this boy arranged some animals to see.

Damit der Besuch in diesem Kanal im Extremfall nicht ganz enttäuschend endet, wird von einem Jungen für Besichtigungsobjekte gesorgt.

Auch ein kleiner Kaiman (mit einem n - hat nichts mit den Kaimann-Inseln zu tun... Cayman Islands...) gehört dazu...

Also a little caiman (with an i - has nothing to do with Cayman Islands) was part of the show.

Ist der Waschbär nicht niedlich...

Soll ich für Katie schon mal prüfen, ob er unter das Washingtoner Artenschutzabkommen fällt - oder ob künftig neben Hund und Katze auch ein Waschbär in Salzgitter sein Zuhause findet?

Should I check for Katie if the coon was protected by CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) - or if they a coon will have a new home in Salzgitter, Germany with a dog and a cat???

He also showed us an ocean turtle which were protected here by several projects.

Auch eine der Meeresschildkröten wird uns gezeigt, die hier in diversen Projekten geschützt werden.

Der Regen nimmt immer noch kein Ende.

Es gibt hier anscheinend Licher Pilsener im Ausschank. Wo der Eisvogel ist, kann Licher Pilsener nicht weit sein...

Und dann gibt es doch noch etwas affiges in der Natur zu sehen...

Before we reached the port she offered us one more time a nice view to our ship.

Bevor wir den Hafen erreichen, bietet sie uns noch einen schönen Blick auf unser Schiff.

An der Stelle, an der eine eindrucksvolle Tour ihren Anfang nahm, nimmt sie auch sein Ende. Nur hier sind jetzt viele Straßenkinder, die einen auch mal anfassen, um zum Ziel zu kommen. Gaby bittet uns nachdrücklich ihnen nichts zu geben... sondern alles ihr... ha ha ha... nein - sie hat wirklich eine Tour angeboten, die man in der Form bei anderen nicht buchen kann und uns Eindrücke vermittelt, die wir Europäer so schnell nicht wieder bekommen. Daher: es lohnt sich.

We returned to the place where we started an impressive tour this morning. But now here were many of the street kids who touched you to reach their aims. Gaby told us not give them anything... and to gave her all we had... ha ha ha... no - she offered us a tour which you cannot get in this form with others and gave us impressions we Europeans might not be able to get them again so soon. The tour was worth.

Eine Pause für ein Mittagessen ist nicht vorgesehen. Wer einen Lunch braucht, sollte ein Unternehmen buchen, das sich auf Amerikaner spezialisiert hat. Wir haben uns ja morgens im Aqua Spa Café mit Bio-Brioches versorgt. Eine Tupperware-Box, die wir mitführen, erweist sich als äußerst praktisch.

There was no lunch-break in our schedule. Who need a lunch should better book a tour specialized for American guests who preferred to have a lunch stop. We took some organic brioches from the Aqua Spá Café this morning. A Tupperware-box which we had with us was very practical.

Due to the rain the order of the places was changed and so it fit perfectly that it was just lunch-time... By accident the patties-salesman came along our way and Gaby bought us some.

Weil wir die Reihenfolge der Besichtigung aufgrund des Regens verändert haben, passt es ganz gut, dass gerade Lunch-Time ist... Denn zufällig kommt der Patties-Händler vorbei. Und Gaby spendiert uns welche.

Die sehen nicht nur handgemacht aus, sondern schmecken aus handgemacht: Wir tauschen hinterher: Patties gegen Bio-Brioche.

The did not just looked like handmade they tasted handmade. We made a good exchange: Patties for organic brioches.

We stopped at the fruit store which was already pre-advised by egyptnic (Nicole and Harald).

Wir halten an dem Fruchtstand, der uns von egyptnic (Nicole und Harald) bereits angekündigt wurde.

Zwar sind wir alle satt, aber die frischen Früchte sind einfach zu verlockend.

All of us were full but the fresh fruits were too inviting.

If you think how long the fruits need until they are with us and how much they are... and here fresh from the harvest...

Wenn man sich überlegt, wie lange die Früchte bis zu uns unterwegs sind, und was sie dann kosten... und hier erntefrisch.

Es werden alle möglichen Früchte auch aufgeschnitten, die wir vielleicht nicht kennen.

They cut off all kind of fruits which we might not know from home.

Richard offered me some water apple... but I am from the Odenwald area... apple area pure... if he could convince me???

Richard bietet mir ein Stück Wasserapfel an... aber ich bin ja aus dem Odenwald... Apfelgebiet pur... ob der mich überzeugen kann???

Katie lässt sich eine Kokosnuss öffnen und Charlie versucht eine echte Bio-Banane.

They opened a coconut for Katie and Charlie tried an organic banana.

Also some boiled corn cob was offered.

Nebenbei wird auch frisch gekochter Maiskolben angeboten.

Die frisch aufgeschnittene Ananas, die Bruno gerade probiert: nur süß - angenehm süß - und kein bisschen Säure herauszuschmecken.

The freshly cut pineapple which Bruno tasted: just sweet - convenient sweet - no acid feeling when you eat it.

Should we try another coconut or not... but if would not had the patties before... I was so full...

Versuchen wir noch eine Kokosnuss oder nicht... wenn es vorher die Patties nicht gegeben hätte... Nun bin ich wirklich schon voll...

Da wir wieder so einen tollen Bus haben, in der eine Reihe zu den Mitfahrern zeigt, kann Gaby uns viel unterwegs erklären...

As we had again such a great bus which a had bench facing to the rear Gaby could show and explain us a lot during the ride...

The next cruise with a Pacific Costa Rican port (like Puntarenas) can be booked without addtional approval. Just now there was an outbreak of a vulcano which was closer to the Pacific than to the Atlantic. Bruno was so fascinated that Gaby as Geologist was able to tell so much about it. She told him of the idea to make a landbased round-trip from vulcano to the next. That was too much for me. I decided to do a single-cruise while he is doing his vulcanos.

Die nächste Kreuzfahrt mit einem pazifischem Hafen von Costa Rica (z. B. Puntarenas) kann ich ohne zusätzliche Genehmigung buchen. Denn gerade ist ein Vulkan ausgebrochen und die liegen näher zum Pazifik als zum Atlantik. Bruno ist fasziniert, dass Gaby ihm als Geologin so viel davon erzählen kann. Sie setzt ihm auch in den Kopf, dass es schon Landrundreisen von einem Vulkan zum nächsten gibt. Das geht jedoch zu weit: Ich mache in der Zeit eine Single-Kreuzfahrt.

Sicherheitshalber rufe ich mal bei Gaby an, weil ich nicht weiss, ob der Ausflug überhaupt bei dem stattfindet. Wir haben sind über egyptnic (Nicole und Harald) mit ihr in Kontakt gekommen. Auf ihrer Homepage http://cahuita.npage.com kann man sich über ihr Angebot informieren.

To make sure I just called Gaby if the tour will start due to this weather. We knew her from egyptnic (Nicole and Harald). You can check her website http://cahuita.npage.com. Currently her website is in German. The English version is under construction. But she also offers tours in English.

As Gaby is a small operator she was not allowed to enter the port area. So we need to get outside where she waited for us. Because it was raining dog and cats and due to her draft CELEBRITY EQUINOX could not berth at the cruise ship quay the walk to the exit was extremely long. A shuttle was not offered by port or ship. When we walked back to the ship there were taxi which returned from tours who offer for 1 USD a shuttle service. Whenever you mention Gaby's name you was directed to the exit to fid her.

Da Gaby als kleine Veranstalterin nicht in den Hafen einfahren darf, müssen wir nach draußen, wo wir von ihr erwartet werden. Nur heute ist der lange Marsch ärgerlich, weil es in Strömen regnet und die CELEBRITY EQUINOX wegen ihres Tiefgangs nicht am Kai Kreuzfahrtschiffe angelegt hat und die Wege besonders lange sind. Ein Shuttle wurde ja hafen- oder schiffsseitig nicht angeboten. Als wir zum Schiff zurückwollen, gibt es allerdings von den Taxen, die von ihren Touren zurück sind, ein Angebot für 1 USD zum Schiff gebracht zu werden. Zu Gaby werden wir durchgewunken, sobald wir ihren Namen erwähnen und den Weg zu ihr suchen.

Der Bus ist von Charlie Soto, mit dem die anderen cruisecritic.com-Mitglieder gebucht haben. Ich denke mir zunächst nichts dabei, weil Gaby vielleicht dort den Bus bestellt hat.

That was Charlie Soto's bus. Other cruisecritic.com-members booked a tour with him. I did not take too much attention as Gaby might charter the bus from them.

But then the bus driver asked what we were doing in his bus... I have not entered yet so far...

Aber irgendwann fragt der Fahrer, was wir eigentlich in seinem Bus machen... Zum Glück war ich noch nicht eingestiegen...

O. K. wollen wir mal sagen... von der Form her, hätte man es sicherlich verwechseln können... war ja auch ein Mini-Bus...

O. K. Let us say it this way... the shape might be very similiar so you can mix up the buses... it was a mini-bus as well somehow...

The first point was a Chiquita banana-plantage.

Zunächst geht es zu einer Chiquita Bananen-Plantage.

Allerdings wird der Aufenthalt hier nicht empfohlen, wenn hier gespritzt wird.

But a stay was not recommended if they were spraying.

Gaby helped us to get closer to the ecology and economy of the country. And the consequeces for environement and men.

Wir kaufen eh seit einiger Zeit bevorzugt Bio-Bananen.

But we preferred anyway to buy organic bananas.

She showed us how they manipulated the plant to get them ready for the market.

Sie zeigt uns, wie die Pflanzen manipuliert werden, um eine gewisse Marktfähigkeit zu erreichen.

Das nächste Mal nehme ich mir bestimmt ein paar feuchte Reinigungstücher mit, falls ich dort etwas angefasst habe.

A millipede was crossing the road. But I was unable to count if it was really "milli" (1,000) as a car was approching.

Ein Tausenfüßler kommt uns auf der Straße entgegen. Nur schaffe ich es nicht, nachzuzählen, ob es wirklich 1.000 Beine sind, weil ein Auto kommt.

Als wir am Cahuita-Nationalpark ankommen schüttet es in Strömen. Zum Glück haben wir das Aquapac mit, so dass wir die Kamera auch über Wasser ein wenig schützen können.

When we arrived at Cahuita-National Park it was raining dogs and cat again. We had luckily our Aquapac with us so that we could protect the camera against water somehow.

At least there was Coke... welcome in the rain forrest...

Zumindest gibt es hier Coca-Cola... willkommen im Regenwald...

Das Wetter ändert sich von einer Minute zur anderen. Was wäre allerdings ein Regenwald ohne Regen?

But it was good that I took Immodium (lactose intollerance - nothing to do with norovirus...). So there was no need for me to use one. I think this restrooms were sponsored by Tranquility. Here you had a good chance to aquire new customers by giving them some samplers. I discovered a market gap as well: I would organise in German senior residences as therapy to keep them busy circles who are crocheting the cover for rolls of toilet paper on hat shelf. And these I would sell with a roll of toilet paper for a lot of money. So I could refinance my next cruise. Who likes to run when you sit already to the cashier to ask for some toilet paper???

Aber gut, dass ich sicherheitshalber eine Immodium genommen habe (Laktose-Intolleranz - hat nichts mit Norovirus zu tun...). So komme ich nicht in die Verlegenheit sitzend die Toilette nutzen müssen. Diese Anlage wird bestimmt von Attends usw. gesponsort. Hier lassen sich bestimmt neue Kundenkreise mit Proben erschließen. Und ich habe eine Marktlücke entdeckt: ich werde als Beschäftigungstherapie für deutsche Seniorenresidenzen die Klorollenhüllen für die Hutablage häkeln lassen. Und die werde ich mit einer Rolle weichem Toilettenpapier hier teuer verkaufen. So hätte ich meine nächste Kreuzfahrt finanziert. Wer rennt schon gerne, wenn er sich bereits gesetzt hat, nochmals zum Kassenhäuschen, um sich Papier zu besorgen???

In diesem Abschnitt besteht Badeverbot, weil die Wellen zu hoch sind.

Es wird extra gewarnt... Aber vollkommen ungefährlich für Nicht-Schwimmer - oder???

Gaby said that the best would be to use umbrellas.

Gaby meint, dass wir mit Regenschirmen am Besten weiterkommen...

So sieht es aus, wenn ein Ausflug ins Wasser fällt... und die Palme mit dazu...

Such nice blossoms were the highlights of the tour.

Solche schöne Blüten bilden die Höhepunkte dieser Tour.

Gaby wäre der Tod jedes Hoteldirektors auf einem Kreuzfahrtschiff... Sie fasst alles an, um uns die Sachen näher zu bringen...

Gaby would be the death for each hotel director on a cruise ship... She touched everything that we can make acquaintance with it.

Autobahnen gibt es nicht, aber Termitenstraßen...

Sie achtet streng darauf, dass wir nichts irgendwas an der Infrastruktur der Termiten zerstören.

Es wird soviel an Wissen vermittelt: am besten bringt man ein Diktiergerät mit, aber ich erinnere mich nicht mehr daran, was so besonderes an dem Baum war. Ich glaube die rote Farbe...

The transferred so much knowledge: best would be to have a voice recorder with you. I cannot remember so much details what she gave us. Something was special with this tree: maybe it was the red colour...

I always wanted to know how you get coffee into the package...

Ich wollte schon immer mal wissen, wie Kaffee in die Packung kommt...

Sprachlos werde ich allerdings, als sie Kaffeebohnen auspackt und uns die weitergehenden Produktionsstufen erklärt... Nur die Kaffeemühle und eine Kaffeemaschine fehlt, um eine Verköstigung zu machen.

But I became speachless when she unpacked coffeebeans and explained the further processing steps... Only a coffee mill and a coffee machine was missing to offer a coffee tasting.

Gaby told us how she rescued this plant as she get lost from the ground during a storm. Without being fixed again she will not survive.

Gaby berichtet uns über ihre Rettungsaktionen für diese Pflanze, die wohl sich während eines Sturms von ihren Verankerungen gelöst hat und sonst nicht überlebensfähig wäre.

Mich wundert es, dass Tarzan von Liane zu Liane schwingen konnte. Das wirkt auf mich eher wie ein Mikado-Spiel. Bis dass er sich für die richtige Liane entschieden hat, müssten doch die Bösen ihn längst erwischt haben.

I was surprised that Tarzan was able to swing from one liane to the liane. It reminds me more to jackstraw. Before he decided which liane should be the best the bad boys should have caught him.

We should attend the beauty of this tree... Ahhh... I was grown up in a big city: no idea what she was telling about...

Wir sollen auf die Schönheit dieses Baumes achten... Aha... ich bin ein Großstadtkind und habe keine Ahnung, wovon sie spricht...

Sie schnappt sich einen verletzten Krebs. Nur weil sie keinen 1.-Hilfe-Kasten mithat, wird dem Krebs die fehlenden Beine nicht angenäht usw. usw.

Something was very special... best would be to make the tour and ask her again... I forgot it... (Appendix: it was a Noni-plant which should have a good influence to your health.).

Irgendwas war mit der Pflanze... am Besten selbst hinfahren und nochmals nachfragen... ich habe es vergessen... (Nachtrag: es ist eine Noni-Pflanze, die einen gesundheitsförderdernden Nutzen haben soll).

Fragt mich nicht, was mit dem Stamm besonderes war. Ich habe soviel Natur in einer Stunde gesehen, wie sonst in zwei Jahren...

Do not ask me what was so special with this trunk. I had so much nature for one hour like I had for I had all the last two years.

We walked already 0.6 miles. Because it rained and the sandy way was wet it was like walking 6 miles... Why cannot there be a zip line avaialbe in this national park???

Wir sind schon 1 km gelaufen. Weil es regnet und der Sandweg feucht ist, kommt es mir schon vor wie 10 km... Wieso kann man keine Seilbahn durch den Nationalpark legen???

Endlich werden Brüllaffen entdeckt.

Finally howler monkeys were discovered.

That were the crabs who obviously lived as vegetarians.

Das waren wohl auch wieder Krebse, die vegetarisch sind...

Nur wenn man ganz still ist, hat man die Chance sie auch zu sehen. Die Einheimischen, die nur zum Strand wollen, denken sowieso, dass wir nicht richtig ticken und laufen einfach weiter, während wir uns auf Zehenspitzen an den Öffnungen vorbeischleichen.

Hier fließt normalerweise der Fluß ins Meer. Nur im Moment ist wohl Trockenzeit, denn das Wasser des Flusses endet kurz vor dem Meer.

Here normally a river flows into the sea. But at the moment it was dry time and so the water of the river ended before it reached the sea.

Ein Weisskopfäffchen (korrekt: Kapuzineraffen / Cebus capucinus) knackt eine Tüte Snacks. Aber als Ernährungsphysiologin für Affen wird die Tüte ungerösteter und ungesalzener Erdnüsse von Gaby zum Verzehr freigegeben...

A little capuchin money opened a bag with snacks. As nutritionist for monkeys the bag of unroasted and unsalted was approved by Gaby for consumption.

With some sun we left Cahuita National Park. We hoped that it would stayed this way.

So verabschieden wir uns mit ein bisschen Sonne vom Cahuita Nationalpark. Hoffentlich bleibt es so.

Da wird ein Mitleser enttäsucht sein... schon wieder kein Frischkäse...

Ich beschließe künftig nur noch "nackt" und voller Probleme mit Celebrity zu reisen: Wir bekommen eine weitere Flasche Wein, dabei haben die ja "nur" unsere Probleme gelöst. Um die Kosten für Reinigung, Smoking-Verleih, Gepäcktransfer in George Town, Kommunikation entsprechend zu verbuchen, werden wir gebeten den Dokumentationsbogen auszufüllen. Der Slogan von Celebrity "Starring you..." (Du bist in der Hauptrolle) hier wird es gelebt...

For the future I decided to travel "naked" and full of problems with Celebrity: We got another bottle of wine but they "only" solved our problems. To get a certain kind of proper booking to the right account for the laundry-service, tuxedo-rental, baggage transfer in George Town, Communication we were kindly requested to complete this documentation questionaire. They really iived their slogan "Starring you..."...

Vor dem Pier warten schon die Busse für die Schiffstouren.

In front of the pier the buses for the ship's tour were waiting.

I hoped that our tour guide should be there and waited for us.

Da wird ja wohl auch hoffentlich unsere Fremdenführerin stehen und auf uns warten.

Ah ja: hinten scheinen ja die typsichen Kleinbusse zu stehen.

Oh yea... at the rear there should be the typical mini-buses waiting.

As we first thought that we had to walk few yards in the heavy rain and heavy wind we did not unpack the umbrellas.

Da wir zunächst glauben, dass es sich nur um wenige Meter im strömenden Regen bei heftigem Wind handelt, holen wir nicht die Schirme raus.

Hier werden wir auch schon auf Touren angesprochen, aber weit und breit keine Gaby. Wir werden aber witzigerweise von den Konkurrenten alle nach draußen vor das Cruise Terminal gelotst, als wir Gaby erwähnen und sofort in Ruhe gelassen.

They tried to offer us tours but no Gaby so far. But when we mention her name even their competitors directed us outside to the front of the Cruise Terminal and they let us going.

Later we learned that was the regular quay normally the cruise ships docked.

Hinterher erfahren wir es auch: das ist normalerweise der Kai, an dem wir andocken.

Und das der Weg, der zu überbrücken ist. Weil aber die CELEBRITY EQUINOX zuviel Tiefgang hat, müssen wir am Containerkai anlegen. Von dort es sind es ein paar hundert Meter mehr, die wir laufen müssen. Wir müssen also noch nach links, um die Distanz zwischen den zwei Anlegestellen zu überbrücken. Ein Shuttle wird nicht bereitgestellt.

And the normal way we supposed to have. But as CELEBRITY EQUINOX had too much draft we need to berth at the container quay. But from here it was few hundereds of yards more to walk. So we need to walk to the left to bridge the distance between the two quays. No shuttle was available so far.

This was the cruise terminal.

Mit der gesamten Infrastruktur, die man als Passagier und Crew braucht.

Just walk through. Inside you do not find too many signposts but if you mention Gaby you will be directed to the exit.

Einfach durchlaufen. Auch wenn drinnen keine Schilder mehr zu finden sind: man wird weiter zum Ausgang gelotst, wenn man Gaby erwähnt.

Schade, dass ich mir am Vortag die Fingernägel geschnitten habe und nicht genug Bargeld mithabe, weil es im Safe liegt: Links bekommt man ganz günstig Spa-Anwendungen, wie Maniküre, Pediküre und Massagen.

In the landside part of the terminal building it was ICECOLD. So take off your jackets after passing this building or take them on before you walk through this building.

Im Empfangsgebäude zum Land hin, ist es EISKALT. Zieht eure Jacken erst nach dem Gebäude aus, bzw. zieht sie an, bevor ihr durch das Gebäude laufen müsst.

Ich probiere nicht aus, ob es hier WLAN gibt... das wäre mir hier defintiv zu kalt.

I did not try if you had WiFi there... that was too cold to stay there.

Aber alles da, was man so braucht.

Nur von außen wirkt alles nicht so einladend, wenn man von der Straße kommt...
